    Abstract: An X-ray tube according to an embodiment of the inventive concept includes a cathode structure; an anode structure spaced vertically from the cathode structure, a gate electrode structure disposed between the cathode structure and the anode structure, an emitter array disposed between the cathode structure and the gate electrode structure, a tube sheath configured to connect the cathode structure and the anode structure, and a fixing unit connected with the gate electrode structure. The cathode structure includes a first rotation shaft and a cathode connected with the first rotation shaft as one body. The gate electrode structure includes a second rotation shaft and a gate electrode connected with the second rotation shaft through a bearing, and the second rotation shaft is connected with the first rotation shaft by a coupling unit. The gate electrode includes a gate electrode substrate and a protruding part that protrudes from the gate electrode substrate toward an emitter. The protruding part of the gate electrode includes a gate hole that vertically overlaps the emitter. The fixing unit includes a ferromagnetic structure attached to one surface of the gate electrode substrate and disposed on an outer portion of the substrate and a permanent magnet disposed adjacent to the ferromagnetic structure with the tube sheath therebetween.

    Abstract: Provided is a field emission device. The field emission device includes a cathode electrode having a first surface and a second surface facing the first surface, the cathode electrode including grooves that are recessed from the first surface toward the second surface, the grooves extending in a first direction parallel to the first surface and emitter structures which are disposed within the grooves and each of which includes a core extending in the first direction and a conductive wire configured to surround the core. The grooves may be arranged in a second direction crossing the first direction, and the emitter structures may be disposed at vertical levels different from each other.

    Abstract: Provided is an X-ray tube which includes a first electrode, a second electrode spaced apart from the first electrode, a target disposed in a lower portion of the second electrode, an emitter on the first electrode, a third electrode which is positioned between the first electrode and the second electrode and includes an opening at a position perpendicularly corresponding to the emitter, and a spacer provided on the third electrode and surrounding the second electrode. The spacer includes a first section located adjacent to the third electrode and a second section disposed on the first section. The spacer includes a ceramic insulator and conductive dopants dispersed within the ceramic insulator. A concentration of the conductive dopants in the first section of the spacer is greater than a concentration of the conductive dopants in the second section. The third electrode is in contact with the first section of the spacer.

    Abstract: Provided is an X-ray tube including a cathode structure, an anode spaced apart from the cathode structure, a spacer structure disposed between the cathode structure and the anode, and an external power supply connected to each of the cathode structure, the anode, and the spacer structure. Here, the spacer structure includes a first spacer disposed adjacent to the cathode structure and a second spacer disposed on the first spacer and disposed adjacent to the anode. The first spacer includes a first portion adjacent to the cathode structure and a second portion adjacent to a contact point of the first spacer and the second spacer. The second spacer includes a third portion adjacent to the contact point and a fourth portion adjacent to the anode. Each of the first portion and the third portion has a volume resistivity less than that of the second portion.

    Abstract: The inventive concept relates to an apparatus for aging a field emission device configured to emitting electrons based on an electric field between a first electrode and a second electrode, and an aging method thereof. The apparatus according to an embodiment of an inventive concept includes a voltage generator and a current controller. The voltage generator increases the voltage applied to the first electrode to the target voltage level during the first time. The current controller increases the field emission current for the second time to the target current level and increases the pulse width of the field emission current for the third time to the target pulse width. According to the inventive concept, the performance of a large field emission device may be improved with high efficiency and low cost.
