Abstract:
The aqueous alkaline bath for electrochemical deposition of a zinc-iron alloy according to our invention contains a zincate and a compound of iron with a sugar. Advantageously sugar including monosaccharides, trisaccharides and disaccharides such as sucrose are used to form this iron compound. The iron compound may be an iron saccharate. An alloy with superior corrosion resistance is the product of an electrochemical deposition using this bath.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a leak checking method for systems filled with fluids. A test gas, preferably helium, is introduced into the fluid and test gas escaping through any leak in the wall of the system is detected with the aid of a test gas sensitive detector. This method allows highly sensitive and continuous leak checks.
Abstract:
New surface active compounds are disclosed having the Formula (I) ##STR1## in which X is an unsubstituted C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkylene group, a C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkylene group substituted by one or more hydroxy, oxo, methyl or carboxy groups, an unsubstituted p-phenylene group, or a p-phenylene group substituted by one or more halo or C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl groups;M is hydrogen or a salt-forming cation;n is a whole number from 6 to 60; andm is 0 or 1.The new surface active compounds are employed in aqueous acid galvanic zinc baths to improve the quality of the resulting zinc coating.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a process for manufacturing tablets using a press provided with at least one compression chamber having an upper and a bottom mold and a lubrication device having at least one two-substance nozzle which sprays the lubricant onto the walls of said compression chamber in a cone shaped pattern, wherein at least one additive is added to the lubricant to thereby apply the additive onto the surface of the tablets during the manufacturing process.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for coating a substrate with a fluid, having a nozzle system which is provided with at least one two-substance nozzle for the intermittent discharge of the fluid and the discharge of a gas. The two-substance nozzle, in order to attain, respectively obtain, a rotating gas flow, has an inside nozzle and a ring chamber which coaxially encompasses the inside nozzle, with at least one gas inlet nozzle which runs into the lateral surface of this ring chamber and the longitudinal axis of the gas inlet nozzles not intersecting the longitudinal axis of the inside nozzle, and that the ring chamber has an outlet opening which encompasses the outlet opening of the inside nozzle, with a device being provided with which the lubricant can be intermittently supplied to the inside nozzle and another device being provided with which the gas can be continuously supplied to the gas inlet nozzle.
Abstract:
An alkaline - cyanide free or substantially cyanide-free bath is provided for the electrodeposition of a bright levelled zinc coating; said bath containing a zinc salt, alkali hydroxide and conventional additives and a reaction product of unsaturated nitrogen heterocyclic hydrocarbon compounds containing at least two nitrogen atoms in the ring with epihalogen hydrin or glycerol halogen hydrin.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a cage bar for a liquid pressing device, which is delimited by at least one pressing edge in the area of a wearing surface of a hard layer. Said cage bar comprises a spacer that is located in the region of at least one lateral face of a basic member and rises above said lateral face. The spacer (15) is welded onto the lateral face of the cage bar (8), is located at a basic distance (20) from a base (17) of the cage bar (8), which faces away from the wearing surface (11), and extends along the lateral face, no further than to the hard layer (14). The spacer (15) also extends perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the lateral face, said extension being greater than the extension thereof in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the lateral face (21). The spacer (15) has an increasing thickness (22) perpendicular to the lateral face in a direction extending from the hard layer (14) to the base (17).
Abstract:
A sensor for a capacitance pressure gauge having a diaphragm and a base is formed with a series of thin metallic electrode sections formed on the inside of the diaphragm and base. Electrical connection is made to the base electrode sections through the base and one or two pairs of series connected capacitances are formed with the diaphragm electrodes. No direct electrical connection needs to be made to the diaphragm.
Abstract:
A freeze-drying apparatus has a freeze-drying chamber, a double-walled product shelf disposed within the freeze-drying chamber, a conduit system partially disposed within the freeze-drying chamber and attached to the product shelf for temperature regulation thereof, a heat-exchange fluid contained in the conduit system, a test gas reservoir connected to the conduit system outside of the freeze-drying chamber, and a test gas specific detector connected to the chamber for detecting test gas introduced into the freeze-drying chamber from the heat-exchange fluid through a leak in the conduit system. In the alternative, the test gas reservoir is connected to the freeze-drying chamber, and a test gas specific detector is connected to the conduit system outside the freeze-drying chamber for detecting test gas introduced into the heat exchange fluid from the freeze-drying chamber through a leak in the conduit system.
Abstract:
