    Abstract: Multi-part and one-part dry erase compositions are disclosed herein, including methods of using such compositions to form low/zero volatile organic compound (VOC) dry erasable coatings. The multi-part dry erase composition comprises a mixture of a first part and a second part, wherein the first part comprises a curable epoxy resin, such as an aromatic epoxide with diglycidyl epoxy functionality, and the second part comprises an amine curing agent, such as cycloaliphatic polyamine. The one-part compositions comprise monomers, oligomers, and polymers of an aliphatic or aromatic isocyanate, such as a diisocyanate, and an amine curing agent, such as morpholine and derivatives thereof. The dry erase compositions have a VOC content of less than about 25 g/L. Dry erasable coatings also include the abilities to dry erase additional markings in addition to dry erase markers, to include, but not limited to, regular marker, permanent marker, pen, highlighter, crayon, and spray paints. The dry erasable coatings can also withstand wet erasing, cleaning, and deep cleaning, with more aggressive cleaning chemicals like acetone, xylene, and Goof-Off brand aerosol cleaner while still maintaining its dry erasable features.

    Abstract: Improved methods for the production of lightweight, rigid, insulative perlite/cement solid articles such as bricks (62) are provided wherein expanded perlite is first treated with a cement binder followed by application of cement with subsequent mixing and forming. In preferred forms, a continuous belt (12) is provided with laterally spaced apart stations (22-28) for application of perlite, binder, water and Portland cement, respectively, onto the belt (12); these materials are then mixed in a drum mixer (38) to produce a mixture (61) which is poured into a frame assembly (44) for final curing/hardening.

    Abstract: One-pot, dry erasable paints are provided. The dry erasable paints can be used to prepare dry erase coatings on virtually any type of substrate surface. The paints comprise a base component comprising monomers, oligomers, and/or polymers of a diisocyanate mixed with an admix component comprising a solvent. The paints are cured in a time of less than about 12 hours under ambient conditions, and once cured are markable-erasable with numerous writing and marking instruments, including temporary and permanent markers, paint, crayons, ink, and the like.
