Abstract:
Computer aided inspection systems (CAIS) and method for inspection, error analysis and comparison of structures are presented herein. In some embodiments, a CAIS may include a SLAM system configured to determine real-world global localization information of a user in relation to a structure being inspected using information obtained from a first sensor package, a model alignment system configured to: use the determined global localization information to index into a corresponding location in a 3D computer model of the structure being inspected; and align observations and/or information obtained from the first sensor package to the local area of the model 3D computer model of the structure extracted; a second sensor package configured to obtain fine level measurements of the structure; and a model recognition system configured to compare the fine level measurements and information obtained about the structure from the second sensor package to the 3D computer model.

A multi-sensor, multi-modal data collection, analysis, recognition, and visualization platform can be embodied in a navigation capable vehicle. The platform provides an automated tool that can integrate multi-modal sensor data including two-dimensional image data, three-dimensional image data, and motion, location, or orientation data, and create a visual representation of the integrated sensor data, in a live operational environment. An illustrative platform architecture incorporates modular domain-specific business analytics “plug ins” to provide real-time annotation of the visual representation with domain-specific markups.
Abstract:
A computing system and method for identifying related visual content of a collection of visual media files comprising one or more image files and video files includes monitoring inputs to the computing system, the inputs associated with a user interaction with electronic content using the computer system, identifying a visual media file in the collection of visual media files relevant to the electronic content based on a semantic label assigned to the visual media file by the computing system, creating a representative image of the identified visual media file, and displaying the representative image for selection. The computing system enables a selection of the displayed representative image for association of the identified visual media file with the electronic content.
Abstract:
A method for providing a real time, three-dimensional (3D) navigational map for platforms includes integrating at least two sources of multi-modal and multi-dimensional platform sensor information to produce a more accurate 3D navigational map. The method receives both a 3D point cloud from a first sensor on a platform with a first modality and a 2D image from a second sensor on the platform with a second modality different from the first modality, generates a semantic label and a semantic label uncertainty associated with a first space point in the 3D point cloud, generates a semantic label and a semantic label uncertainty associated with a second space point in the 2D image, and fuses the first space semantic label and the first space semantic uncertainty with the second space semantic label and the second space semantic label uncertainty to create fused 3D spatial information to enhance the 3D navigational map.
Abstract:
A computing system for realizing visual content of an image collection executes feature detection algorithms and semantic reasoning techniques on the images in the collection to elicit a number of different types of visual features of the images. The computing system indexes the visual features and provides technologies for multi-dimensional content-based clustering, searching, and iterative exploration of the image collection using the visual features and/or the visual feature indices.

In some embodiments, the system may include a data acquisition system configured to obtain fine-level rebar measurements, images or videos of rebar structures, a 3D point cloud model generation system configured to generate a 3D point cloud model representation of the rebar structure from information acquired by the data acquisition system, a rebar detection system configured to detect rebar within the 3D point cloud model generated or the rebar images or videos of the rebar structures, a rebar measurement system to measure features of the rebar and rebar structures detected by the rebar detection system, and a discrepancy detection system configured to compare the measured features of the rebar structures detected by the rebar detection system with a 3D Building Information Model (BIM) of the rebar structures, and determine any discrepancies between them.
