Abstract: The disclosure provides methods of promoting stem cell differentiation into mesoderm and endoderm cell lineages comprising, for example, contacting a stem cell with an agent that reduces or eliminates gene activity of one or more endogenous small nuclear ribonucleic acid (snoRNA) molecules, wherein the snoRNA molecules comprise SNORD97 and/or SNORD133. Also provided are isolated cardiomyocytes and compositions of the same, wherein the cardiomyocytes are produced using a method described herein.
