Abstract: Process of treating a net gas stream is disclosed. The process includes sending the net gas stream to a compressor to produce a compressed gas stream. The compressed gas stream is then sent to a pressure swing adsorption unit to produce a hydrogen product stream and a tail gas stream. Tail gas stream from the pressure swing adsorption unit is sent to a first membrane unit to produce a first permeate stream and a first non-permeate stream. Portion of the tail gas stream is sent to a second membrane unit to produce a second permeate stream and a second non-permeate stream.

Abstract: Processes for the production of a gasoline blend. A C7 portion of a naphtha stream is first isomerized to increase the branched, iso-paraffins, and then, the isomerized effluent is passed to a dehydrogenation reaction zone. In the dehydrogenation zone, the C7 saturated hydrocarbons are convert to C7 olefins. The C7 olefins have a higher octane number than the C7 saturated hydrocarbons, and the branched olefins have a higher octane number than the normal olefins. The C7 olefins can be blended in a gasoline pool. C5 and C6 hydrocarbons can be isomerized and dehydrogenated as well, separately or with the C7 components.

Abstract: A process is provided for treating a stream comprising light olefins and carbon monoxide by passing the stream through a bed containing a copper containing material. The carbon monoxide needs to be removed in order to prevent poisoning of catalysts in downstream oligomerization reactors. This carbon containing material converts the carbon monoxide and hydrogen to carbon dioxide and water. The olefin stream is then dried and sent to an oligomerization step. There may be three beds so that the beds may alternate regeneration, reaction with CO and H2 and scavenging O2 steps.

Abstract: Processes for selectively removing NOx from various gaseous streams are described. The gaseous streams, include, but are not limited to, hydrocarbon process streams, ammonia combustion gas streams, flue gas streams, cement kiln gas streams, and the like. The processes involve contacting the gaseous stream containing NOx with a catalyst in the presence of H2. The NOx is converted to N2 and H2O. The purified gaseous stream has less NOx less than the level of NOx in the gaseous stream. The catalyst consists essentially of metallic copper on a support with optionally Cu2O, CuO, ZrO2, ZnO, TiO, CeO2, NiO, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: The process produces a diesel stream from a biorenewable feedstock by hydrotreating to remove heteroatoms and saturate olefins. The recycle gas is recycled to the hydrotreating reactor without removing hydrogen sulfide, which is needed in the biorenewable feed to keep the hydrotreating catalyst active. A purification unit can be utilized on a purge gas stream to purify the gas and improve hydrogen concentration in the recycle gas when added to the recycle gas.

Abstract: Processes for co-processing a naphtha stream with a light cycle oil stream are disclosed. The processes include hydrocracking the light cycle oil stream under hydrocracking conditions to provide a hydrocracked effluent stream. A naphtha stream is hydrotreated under hydrotreating conditions to provide a hydrotreated effluent stream. The hydrocracked effluent stream and the hydrotreated effluent stream may be passed to a stripping column to recover a stripping bottom stream. The stripping bottom stream may be passed to a main fractionation column to recover an intermediate naphtha stream.

Abstract: The invention provides a process for producing hydrogen for a hydrogen consuming process comprising obtaining a net gas stream containing hydrogen, compressing the gas stream to a pressure of 20.7 to 68.9 bar (300 to 1000 psig) to produce a compressed gas stream; sending the compressed gas stream to a pressure swing adsorption unit to be separated into a hydrogen stream and a fuel gas stream; purging the pressure swing adsorption unit with an external purge gas stream from a hydroprocessing unit off gas; treating the off gas with a thermal swing adsorption unit to remove water and other impurities prior to purging the pressure swing adsorption unit, and using a protective adsorbent layer in the pressure swing adsorption unit to adsorb impurities from the external purge gas.

Abstract: An integrated process for maximizing recovery of aromatics is provided. The process comprises passing at least a portion of a xylene column bottoms stream to a heavy aromatics column to provide a heavy aromatics column bottoms stream comprising C9+ aromatics and a heavy aromatics column overhead stream. The heavy aromatics column bottoms stream is passed to a second stage hydrocracking reactor of a two-stage hydrocracking reactor. In the second stage hydrocracking reactor, the heavy aromatics column bottoms stream is hydrocracked in the presence of a hydrocracking catalyst and hydrogen to provide a hydrocracked effluent stream.
