    Abstract: Provided is a fluidic oscillator circuit for a nozzle assembly configured to generate oscillating sprays of fluid from an outlet of the nozzle assembly and to improve spray performance of fluid having low temperatures or high viscosity. In one embodiment, provided is an interaction region for a fluidic oscillator circuit that includes an apex protrusion shaped to assist with generating vortices within the interaction region. In another embodiment, provided is an interaction region for a fluidic oscillator having a power nozzle that includes at least one finger protrusion that lengthens the power nozzle to create jets of fluid in the interaction region that are less diffused to improve cold performance of the fluidic oscillator circuit.

    Abstract: A low flow compact spray head design for cleaning applications, especially for camera lens wash includes a miniature spray nozzle head which is about 5 mm in diameter or less for a single direction spray nozzle and about 8 mm in diameter of less for a nozzle with multiple sprays. The washer fluid is fed from the bottom of nozzle along a flow axis and is separated into two flows via two power nozzles or inlets which turn the flows 90° to become opposing jets impinging upon each other inside an interaction region. Uniform stream lines are generated by the two direct facing jets and converge at the nozzle throat to become a uniform spray fan, which is on a plane perpendicular to the axis of cylindrical nozzle head. This fluidic circuit design enables a miniature size low flowrate nozzle to operate well consistently with low flow rate (e.g., a flow rate of about 150 mL/min to about 300 mL/min at 25 psi, or even a flow rate of about 250 mL/min at 25 psi or above, at a viscosity of about 25 CP) at cold temperate (−4° F. or lower) with 50 percent ethanol. This nozzle design is capable of generating two or more different oriented spray fans (e.g., fans spraying in opposing directions) from one single nozzle.

    Abstract: An apparatus for applying a liquid medium irradiated with UV radiation onto a substrata is disclosed, the apparatus comprising: a housing having an elongated chamber, at least one inlet opening, which opens into the chamber and at least one slit shaped outlet opening opposite the inlet opening, which extends over the length of the chamber, a tube element, which extends in a longitudinal direction through the chamber, the tube element being at least partially transparent to UV radiation, wherein the tube element is arranged in the chamber such that a flow space is formed between the tube element and the wall of the chamber, the flow space being symmetric with respect to a longitudinal center plane of the chamber, the longitudinal center plane dissecting the outlet opening in its middle, and such that the tube element extends into the slit shaped outlet opening in the housing and thereby forms two longitudinally extending outlet slits between the tube element and the housing, and at least one UV-radiation source in the tube element, which is arranged to emit UV-radiation in the direction of the flow space and through the outlet opening out of the housing. The apparatus is distinguished by the flow cross section of the flow space reducing from an area adjacent to the at least one inlet opening towards the outlet slits. Hereby, in use the liquid is accelerated as it flows towards the outlet slits, which lead to homogenization of the flow. In the region of the outlet slits, a homogeneous liquid curtain may be formed outside the housing, which may be applied to the substrate. Furthermore, by decreasing the flow cross section, a more homogeneous introduction of the UV radiation info the liquid may be achieved.

    Abstract: A device for spraying a coating chemical onto a moving surface (1) of a papermaking machine includes a machine-wide box body (2) extending in a cross machine direction and defines an internal space configured to enclose part of a spraying equipment (3) and also defines an elongate opening (22) facing said moving surface (1). The spraying equipment (3) includes a plurality of spray nozzle members (30) for spraying coating chemical through said opening (22) onto the moving surface (1), a coating chemical supplying tube (32) is connected to the nozzle members (30), and a plurality of valves (33) are mounted on the coating chemical supplying tube (32), one for each nozzle member (30). To make it possible to change a nozzle member (30) without requiring that the coating chemical supplying tube (32) has to be pulled out of the box body (2), and where the nozzle change can be carried out with less risk for the operator to any danger, the coating chemical supplying tube (32) with said valves (33) is located outside of the box body (2), and the nozzle members (30) extend through a wall portion (36) of the box body (2) and are mounted to be individually movable axially to permit removal of anyone of them independently of the other ones.

    Abstract: A spray gun including a nozzle portion in which a substantially V-shaped groove is formed in a circular section of a truncated conical front end with a cone angle ranging from 20° to 90°, and an internal hole is opened as a liquid ejecting port by forming the substantially V-shaped groove; and a gas cap including a cap face which is provided with an atomized gas opening portion having an opening diameter larger than the circular section, the gas cap forming a circular slit-like gap between the gas cap and an outer periphery of the truncated conical front end, the gap being configured to eject gas for atomizing liquid. The circular section of the truncated conical front end has a diameter ranging from 0.8 mm to 2.8 mm. The atomized gas opening portion has the opening diameter equal to or larger than 1.0 mm and smaller than 3.0 mm.
