Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the service life of a screen by making mutual separation of the surfaces of two sets of alternate parallel bands, at least within the energy range of the primary electrons and with an insulating band including such a material as having its secondary radiation factor less than one. SOLUTION: ITO band 9 of an anode 5' is separated by an insulating band 20 including the first insulating layer 8' made of silicone oxide, and the insulating layer 8' is coated with the very thin second layer of materials whose secondary radiation factor is less than one. In order to improve insulation between adjacent bands by providing spaces at both sides of layer 21, insulating space of the second layer 21 is made smaller in its width than that of the insulating layer 8'. Since the surface material 21 of the insulating band 20 has its secondary radiation factor less than one, the end of the surface material 21 is subjected to negative electric load so that its screen makes action when the primary electrons are passed form a micro-chip. This negative electric load increases up to its electric load balancing point by applying negative bias to a band adjacent to the luminous element. Accordingly, any of color shift phenomenon can be eliminated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that the realizing of eliminating color drifts becomes relatively complex and the problem of the voltage breakdown of a screen by providing a reproducing state in which at least anode parts are in low voltage levels and corresponding cathodes are biased to radioactive states. SOLUTION: The control method of a cathode light emitting screen is formed by providing a reproducing state in which at least anode parts are in low level voltages and corresponding cathodes are biased to radioactive states. That is, for example, color subframe periods Tr, Tg, Tb are provided in an interval in which respective strips of colors of red, green and blue are successively biased in a frame duaration period T. Moreover, a dead time Td corresponding to the reproducing stage is provided. In the dead time Td, all anode stripes of three colors are not biased. Conversely, the pair of cathode gates are biased so that electric radiations are generated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the flat display screen equipped with a microchip which switches fluorescent elements supporting conductor strips of anodes by applying a voltage lower than a minimum cathode voltage at least temporarily by a control circuit that is so adapted as to address respective groups in sequence. SOLUTION: The stationary voltage of a fluorescent strip is a voltage VA1 which is lower than the minimum bias voltage of the cathode microchip. In an example of interest where a cathode array is biased between 0-30V as a function of desired brightness of a pixel of a color in question the negative voltage VA1 is selected. Therefore, when one group is not addressed any more, the corresponding transistor MN turns on and the conduction strip of this group is held at the negative voltage VA1. Consequently, the capability of the fluorescent strip for attracting electrons emitted from the microchip is suppressed by quickening discharge between a fluorescent element and the strip supporting the fluorescent element.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a controversial point of an electronic arc without impairing brightness of a screen by forming an electrode strip (ST) wire of a resistance ST wire to receive a signal from a single phosphor ST wire and bias ST wires having a resistance value lower than it. SOLUTION: An ST wire 17 of an anode electrode of a flat display screen contains a resistance ST wire 18 to support phosphor elements 7 and at least single parallel biassing ST wires 19. The ST wire 18 is desirably provided in the lengthwise direction by the two biassing ST wires 19. An anode is electrically continuous, and is formed on a transparent base board 6 by the parallel ST wire 18 made of a transparent material such as In or a tin oxide. The ST wire is provided by the two highly conductive strip wires 19 composed of Al, Cu or Au. In a color screen, the strip wires 19 are connected to an internal connecting part of the phosphor ST wires 7 having the same color by one of these end parts. The ST 19 has a resistance value lower than a resistance value of a material to constitute the ST wire 18.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an electric arc from occurring between the anode and cathode plates and prevent degradation of brightness of an image, by providing an bias electrode with at least a resistance layer under a phosphor element, depositing this resistance layer on a conductive layer, and applying a bias to the phosphor element. SOLUTION: Conductive strips 5R, 5G, 5B of an anode are interconnected according to a set of strips assigned to the same color. These conductive strips 5R, 5G, 5B are covered by resistance strips 8 made of resistant material. Phosphor element 4R, 4G, 4B are deposited on the resistance strips 8, and not exist directly on the conductive strips 5R, 5G, 5B. A electrode for bias of the phosphor elements is provided with the conductive strips 5R, 5G, 5B and the resistance strips 8. Thus, an image is efficiently protected from an electric arc causing obstacle, and a lateral space does not increase between strips of the phosphor elements.

SOLUTION: The subject method for enclosing a phosphor comprises the following procedure: a solution of a serigraphic binder such as polyvinyl alcohol containing lead nitrite or indium nitrite is incorporated with particles of a phosphor selected from the group consisting of Gd2O2S: Tb, Y2SiO5: Tb, Y2SiO5: Ce, Y2O3: Eu and ZnO: Zn followed by depositing the phosphor on a substrate by serigraphy and then making an annealing at 400-500 deg.C for several hours to form a lead oxide or indium oxide coat on the surface of the phosphor deposited as described above; wherein it is preferable that 10 g of the solution contains 6-10 g of the phosphor and the solution is incorporated with a defoaming agent as well.

Microchips 10 are built in holes 14 formed, at least in the wires 13 and in the insulating layer 4, and gas emission preventing layers 20 are each provided between the grid wires 13. The gas emission preventing layer 20 masks, as wide as possible, surfaces of materials in the negative electrode/grids heavily emitting gases by impacts of electrons, and as the material used for this layer, an insulating material such as aluminum (Al2O3) is selected, so as to have not only a small bonding factor but also to maintain insulation between neighboring grid wires 13.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of the screen service life and a color drift by arranging converging conductive strips adjusted to insulating strips by substantially joining the centers together, and narrowing a width of the converging conductive strips more than a width of the insulating strips. SOLUTION: An anode 5 is formed on a base board 6, and alternate strips of fluorescent elements 7r, 7g and 7b respectively corresponding to colors are provided. Additional conductive strips 19 are stuck on insulating strips 8 to separate strips of two adjacent fluorescent elements from each other. A width of the additional strips 19 does not completely cover the insulating strips 8 since it is smaller than a distance between the two adjacent fluorescent element strips. Here, the strips 19 have the converging action to electrons emitted toward conductive strips 9 (r, g and b) to support the fluorescent elements by a cathode. Therefore, accumulation of minus electric charge on a surface of this layer 8 is extremely reduced.
