PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a popcorn polymer as a filter aid and/or a stabilizer for manufacturing beverage. SOLUTION: The insoluble, only slightly swellable popcorn polymer comprises (a) 0.1-99 wt.% of an N-vinyllactam or an N-vinylamine, (b) 0-10 wt.% of a bifunctional crosslinking agent component, and (c) 0.1-50 wt.% of at least one further monomer polymerizable by free radicals, provided that the weight percentages of the individual components are based on the total amount of the popcorn polymer and total up to 100%. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a constituent readily mixable in a cosmetic composition and suitable for imparting a color to the cosmetic composition having advantages of a pigment, the so-called chemically inert behavior toward other constituents of the cosmetic composition and low solubility in water. SOLUTION: This fine dye-containing polymer PD comprises a polymer substrate containing at least one organic dye in the uniformly dispersed form.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorant-containing aqueous polymer dispersion containing no anionic emulsifying agent, its manufacturing method, and a cosmetic composition using the same. SOLUTION: The colorant-containing aqueous polymer dispersion comprises (a) (i) a polymer matrix to be prepared from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer M and (ii) colorant-containing polymer particles which are uniformly dispersed in the above polymer matrix and contain at least one organic colorant C to be selected from a dye, an UV absorber, and a fluorescent brightener and, simultaneously, have an average particle diameter d50 of

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer dispersion having high solid content and low viscosity. SOLUTION: This polymer dispersion having different particle size is produced very simply by emulsion-polymerization of a free-radical polymerizable compound by adding a mini-emulsion that is a surfactant-stabilized aqueous emulsion of monomers having emulsified particle size of 10-500nm, and whose liquid monomer particles contain a compound whose solubility into the monomers is at least twice that into water, before or during polymerization of the monomers.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an ampholytic copolymer, to a method for the production thereof, to cosmetic or pharmaceutical agents containing at least one such ampholytic copolymer, and to other uses of said copolymers.
Abstract:
The invention relates to polymer products that can be obtained by mixing (A) polymers, obtained by the radical polymerisation of (A-1) ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of (A-2) unsaturated polyalkylene glycols, with (B) silicones, at a temperature greater than or equal to 30 DEG C. The invention also relates to a method for producing said polymer products, in addition to their use in cosmetic preparations, in particular haircare preparations.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of polyvinyl lactame-polyalkylene oxide block copolymers as solubilisers for poorly water-soluble substances.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of copolymers containing: a) 60 to 99 % by weight of at least one vinyl lactam or N-vinyl amine, selected from the group consisting of N-vinyl pyrrolidone, N-vinyl piperidone, N-vinyl caprolactam or N-vinyl formamide, and; b) 1 to 40 % by weight of at least one monomer of general formula (I).
Abstract:
The invention relates to cosmetic preparations, particularly for hair cosmetic applications, containing copolymers based on N-vinyl lactams and N-vinyl heterocyclic compounds.
