Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing riboflavin granules suitable for continuous processing operation and favorable in the release rate of riboflavin from the tablets containing the granules. SOLUTION: This method for producing the subject riboflavin granules or riboflavin microgranules with a riboflavin content of 90-99.5 wt.% and granular size of 50-450 μm comprises addition of 0.5-10 wt.%, on a dry basis, of at least one auxiliary selected from the group consisting of the respective halides, carbonates, bicarbonates, and phosphates of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals, crosslinked cellulose, cellulose derivatives, and crosslinked polyvinylpyrrolidone, in granulation.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a colorant having excellent light stability, useful for coloring a cosmetic, a beverage and a medicine composition, by adding a carotenoid- aggregate. SOLUTION: This colorant contains a carotenoid-aggregate which is H- and/or J-aggregate, in which the carotenoid is astaxanthin, lycopene, etc. A cosmetic, a beverage and a medicine composition containing the colorant are transparent and preferably contain 0.1-100 ppm of carotenoid based on the total of the composition. A soft drink is preferable as the beverage.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable solubilized carotenoid preparation having particle diameters in the range of 10-200nm, having the concentration of an active compound higher than 0.5wt.% useful for coloring food and medicine preparation. SOLUTION: A suspension containing 1-40wt.% of one or ore carotenoids, 20-90wt.% of one or more nonionic surfactants and 0-50wt.% of another additive is heated to 120-200 deg.C for a short time to give a uniform solution, which is formulated with water or an aqueous solution containing a hydrophilic antioxidant at 10-95 deg.C by turbulent flow with adding another surfactant or not to produce a solubilized carotenoid preparation having 0.5-10wt.% carotenoid content, which is used.

Abstract: Use of a carotenoid solubilisate, comprising 1-40 wt.% carotenoids, 20-90 wt.% non-ionic emulsifier and 0-50 wt.% other additives, to colour foodstuffs and pharmaceutical preparations. The ingredients are heated to 120-200 degrees C for a short time, water is added together with anti-oxidants or other additives, mixing at 10-95 degrees C occurs and the final formulation contains 0.5-10 wt.% carotinoids.
