    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent fire breakouts due to an evaporated gas of an electrolytic solution by isolating an electric circuit and the surrounding of the battery cell side by partitioning with a partitioning well the battery chamber to house a battery cell and an electric circuit chamber to house the electric circuit. CONSTITUTION: An electric circuit chamber A to house an electric circuit, a battery chamber B to house one or more battery cells, and a partitioning wall 26 to partition the electric circuit chamber A and the battery chamber B are formed in the inside of a shallow substrate 21. Cut parts 27a, 27c into which lead wires in the anode side and the cathode side of a battery cell assembly are to be inserted are formed in the partitioning wall 26, a cut part 27b into which a terminal of a thermistor to detect the ambient temperature of the battery cells is to be inserted is also formed in the wall 26, and cut parts 27d, 27e into which lead wires to monitor the terminal voltage in the middle point of the battery cell assembly are inserted are further formed in the wall 26. Moreover, a groove part 28 which is connected with the partitioning wall 26 is formed in approximately the front part of a shallow cover body 22 and cut parts 29a-29e corresponding to the cut parts 27a-27e formed in the rim part of the partitioning wall 26 are formed in the groove part 28 and at the same time, safety holes 25a-25c are formed in the rear bottom face of the cover body 22.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent battery charger by starting or stopping the charging operation of a battery in an electric or electronic apparatus depending on the power consumption state thereof. CONSTITUTION: A battery charger 50 is inserted in series between power lines L, L' connecting an AC/DC adapter 10 and a notebook computer (PC) 100. The charger 50 comprises a power line 1 connected in parallel with the power line L in order to feed power to a battery 30', a switch SW1 for connecting or disconnecting the power lines L, L', a switch SW2 for connecting or disconnecting the power lines 1, and a charging controller 52 for controlling the operation of the SW2. The charging controller 52 connects the switches SW1, SW2 appropriately by monitoring the physical quantities, e.g. the output current and voltage of the battery 30' and the inner temperature of the battery pack, and the power consumption of a system load 40.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a battery pack and a mechanism for connecting the battery pack (40) that provide increased freedom for detachment and removal from an electric/electronic device (10). Since a head (46), wherein a plurality of terminals are so provided inside individual slits as not to be exposed externally, is connected to a battery interface (76) that is a part of a personal computer and that has a plurality of plugs, the terminals of the battery pack are electrically connected to the corresponding plugs. Since all the slits of the head (46) are so formed that each extends fully through the head (46) in the direction of the thickness of the battery pack (40), and so that each is open at the top, at the bottom, and at one side, the head (46) can be connected to the battery interface (76) from the top, from the bottom, or from the side of the battery interface (76).

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To easily accommodate cables by providing an engaging mechanism for removably engaging the end part of the cable to a body. CONSTITUTION: An engaging mechanism 6 is formed of a DC terminal 3 at the end part of a DC cable 2 and a recess 100 of a first flange 1A. A recess 10 is formed by cutting out one side of a first flange 1A and a DC connector socket 33 of the DC terminal 3 is just accommodated in the recess 100. Moreover, a window 9 communicated with the recess 100 is formed to the first flange 14, along the longitudinal direction of the recess 100. When a DC connector socket 33 is to be accommodated in the recess 100, the DC connector socket 33 is placed within the recess 100, while the end point 31 of plug is inserted to the window 9. Thereby the cables can be accommodated easily.

SOLUTION: The connector 10 has a connector main body 12 provided with a latch part 18 in a protruding way, under which is arranged a connector part 20, and a pressing plate 14 fixed on the bottom face 12A. When the connector part 20 is connected with a battery connector 130 set in a concave part 180 of a battery pack 150, a hook 24 of the latch part 18 gets engaged with a groove part 182 of the concave part 180, and the pressing plate 14 gets contacted with a bottom face 150B of the battery pack 150 to pinch the battery connector 130 with the latch part 18, the connector 10 thus locked in that connection state.

SOLUTION: The charge of the main battery is started, and at the point of time when the capacity of the main battery reaches a specified value, the charge of the main battery is stopped (steps 200-204). Then, the charge of the second battery is started, and at the point of time when the capacity of the second battery reaches a specified value, the charge of the second battery is stopped (steps 206-210).     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform used equipment such as a charger or a batter of its abnormality and prevent overcharge or overdischarge by changing the temperature detection output into the signal equivalent abnormal temperature, when this protective circuit detects the abnormality of the charge condition or discharge condition of a secondary battery. SOLUTION: Secondary batteries 1 and 2 are charged by fixed voltage charge method used for, for example, a lithium secondary battery, a lead battery, etc. The batteries 1 and 2 are connected in series, and n-channel FETs 3 and 4 constituting first and second switch elements are connected in series to the charge/discharge circuit. The parasitic diodes D1 and D2 of the FETs 3 and 4 get in forward direction at the time of charge and discharge. In a protective circuit, the + terminal, to the + terminal of the battery 1, and the - terminal, to the source of the FET 3, and a thermistor 1, between the outer terminal T and the - terminal, are connected. The thermistor 11 operates overcharge or overdischarge preventive circuits 5 or 6 through a transistor 12 and an abnormality detection circuit 10 so as to charge or discharge it properly when the temperature during charge or discharge deviates from the specified range.
