    Abstract: The anode includes electrode bands (17) each of which incorporates a resistive band (18) which is a transparent electrically conducting non-stoichiometric oxide, esp. indium tin oxide, fixed by the quantity of oxygen contained in the oxide. Associated with each band are two parallel polarisation bands (19) on either side and joining to the conductor connecting the electrodes. Phosphor bands (7) are deposited onto the resistive bands. The polarisation and resistive bands may be of the same material but with the polarisation band having lower resistivity. An insulator (8) separating the electrode bands serves as a mask to increase the resistivity of the resistance bands by heat treatment in an atmosphere of oxygen. Alternatively, the thickness of the material may vary the resistivity with the insulator acting as a etching mask. Three such assemblies are used to mfr. a colour screen.

    Abstract: The cathode (1) includes an insulating substrate (10) and a resistive layer (11) which supports an array of micro-tips (2). Cathode conductors (13) are placed on top of the resistive layer over a thin conductor coat (19). The conductors are organised in columns (15) each column encompassing a large number of micro-tips. The micro-tips are located in the centre of circular openings (17) present along the cathode conductors. Each micro-tip is thus separated from the conductor by a circular area of same resistivity. A control grid (3) is associated with the cathode and separated from the conductors by two insulating layers (16,18).

    Abstract: The anode flat screen connecting structure has parallel cathode strips (9r,9g,9b) for each colour, above luminous micropoints. The strips are connected to solid resistances (22). The other end of the resistance blocks is connected to parallel tracks (21r,21g,21b) which form the voltage rails. There is an isolation layer (23) to isolate the voltage rails from the resistors. Each resistor has an opening (24r,24g) at one end and a second opening (25b,25g) at the other end.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for control of a fluorescent microdot screen consisting of pixels arranged into L rows and M columns of images capable of taking a discrete number of Q grey shades, in which the column voltage values are chosen in a strictly increasing series of N+1 values such that, with the row selection times being subdivided into S equal time intervals DELTA t, each voltage value is applied a whole number of times DELTA t, (NxS)+1 representing the number of grey levels, with N >/= 2 and S >/= 2. During a row selection time, the corresponding column voltage takes a first value Va for a certain number of time intervals DELTA t, then, if appropriate, during the remaining time intervals at most one second value Vb following the first one in the series of N voltages.
