Abstract: Se describe un metodo y aparato de comunicacion inalambrica para generar una concesion de programacion en base a una concesion relativa. Una unidad de transmision en la recepcion inalambrica (WTRU) recibe una concesion absoluta de un conjunto de radio enlace (RLS) de servicio y recibe una concesion relativa del RLS en servicio y al menos un radio enlace (RL) de no servicio. La WTRU descodifica senales de E-AGCH de canal de concesion absoluta (E-AGCH) de un canal dedicado mejorado (E-DCH) para detectar una concesion absoluta, y descodifica las senales de E-RGCH de canal de concesion relativa (E-RGH) de E-DCH para detectar al menos una concesion relativa. La WTRU entonces calcula una concesion de servicio en base a la concesion absoluta detectada y/o en base a las concesiones relativas. Las concesiones relativas se pueden detectar al realizar una prueba de hipotesis en las senales de E-RGCH. Se realiza una prueba de hipotesis en multiples alternativas para detectar las senales de E-RGCH del RLS de servicio y se realiza una prueba de hipotesis binaria para detectar las senales de E-RGCH.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically correcting the frequency of a local oscillator of a receiver. A primary common pilot channel (CPICH) code sequence is generated by a CPICH code generator based on a reference cell identification signal and a frame start signal. The received despread CPICH code sequence is used to generate an estimated frequency error signal. A control voltage signal is generated by a control voltage generator based on the estimated frequency error signal. The CPICH code generator generates the CPICH code sequence based on signals received from a high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) serving cell when HSDPA is active, or a timing reference cell when HSDPA is not active. The present invention achieves full maximum ratio combining gain when space time transmit diversity (STTD) is used, even without receiving a transmit diversity indication.

Abstract: Se proporciona un metodo y aparato para calcular y corregir un error de frecuencia de banda de base en un receptor. En una modalidad, un ecualizador realiza la ecualizacion sobre una corriente de datos de muestra y genera valores de interposicion de filtro en base en la ecualizacion. Se genera una senal de error de frecuencia calculada en base en por lo menos uno de los valores de interposicion de filtro. Se genera un fasor giratorio en base en la senal de error de frecuencia calculada. La senal de fasor giratorio se multiplica con la corriente de datos de muestra para corregir la frecuencia de la corriente de datos de muestra. En otra modalidad, un calculador de canal realiza el calculo de canal y genera indicadores de receptor de inclinacion en base por lo menos uno de los indicadores. Se genera una senal de error de frecuencia calculada en base en por lo menos uno de los indicadores.

Abstract: A receiver which suppresses inter-cluster multipath interference by processing an impulse channel response consisting of two multipath clusters, each cluster having groups of signals with multiple delays. In one embodiment, the receiver includes a single antenna and parallel-connected delay units used to align the groups of signals before being input into respective sliding window equalizers. The outputs of the equalizers are combined at chip level via a combiner which provides a single output. In another embodiment, a cluster multipath interference suppression (CMIS) circuit is incorporated into the receiver. The CMIS circuit includes a hard decision unit and a plurality of signal regeneration units to generate replicas of the multipath clusters. The replicas are subtracted from the respective outputs of the delay units and the results are input to the respective sliding window equalizers. In another embodiment, multiple antennas are used to receive and process the clusters.

Abstract: A receiver for receiving a CDMA communication signal that is wirelessly transmitted includes a system for correcting phase errors in an information signal which has been transmitted. The correction system comprises circuitry for generating a mixing signal and for combining the mixing signal with said information signal to produce a correction signal. An analyzer analyzes the phase of said correction signal and generates an error signal based on the deviation of the analyzed phase from a reference phase. A bandwidth controller which recursively adjusts the phase of the correction signal such that the phase of said correction signal is substantially equal to said reference phase. The bandwidth controller then selects a bandwidth within an adjustable range based on the correction signal, estimates an offset by interrogating the error signal, and modifies said correction signal by the offset.

En una forma de realizacion, el conjunto de antenas es optimizado ya que las FFTs son operadores de transformada invariable lineal, por lo cual el orden de operaciones en el receptor OFDM puede ser cambiado.

Abstract: In a time-division duplex (TDD) system, a reliable initialization scheme that is applicable to an automatic gain controller (AGC) at a base station is implemented in various forms depending on the availability of certain information such as signal-to-interference ratio (SIR), spreading factors and other parameters. A more accurate estimation of the initial control word of a gain-adjustable amplifier for one or more time slots is implemented. The scheme is applicable to AGC initialization for each time slot of the TDD system, but is also applicable to other systems of transmission, without limitation.
