    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for service indication via downlink control information (DCI) in which different services have a same DCI size. Techniques provide also that a DCI format may be indicated by a masking operation on a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) of the DCI. The DCI may include an indicator field that may indicate the service of the associated operation. The indication may also be provided via different monitoring occasions of the DCI transmissions that are associated with different services. Different DCI search spaces also may be associated with different services and provide the service indication. Additionally or alternatively, different scrambling sequences used on all or a portion of control information or demodulation reference signal transmissions may be associated with different services.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support slot format determination for extended cyclic prefix (ECP) transmissions using normal cyclic prefix (NCP) slot formats. A slot format indicator (SFI) for NCP slots may identify transmission directions (e.g., uplink symbols, downlink symbols, or flexible symbols) for different symbols within a slot, and the SFI may provide an indication of a particular slot format that is to be used. Starting and ending times of each NCP symbol in a slot may be time domain mapped to starting and ending times of each ECP symbol in the slot. A transmission direction of each ECP symbol may be determined based at least in part on the transmission direction of at least a portion of at least one NCP symbol that fully or partially overlaps in the time domain with a corresponding ECP symbol.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify a channel condition change (e.g., a beam switch, a bandwidth part (BWP) switch) for a channel between the base station and a user equipment (UE). The base station may transmit a downlink control information (DCI) that indicates the identified channel condition change and a resource allocation for transmissions between the base station and the UE. The base station may select a pattern of time and frequency resources for a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) for tracking for the UE, and transmit the CSI-RS using the identified pattern. The UE may identify the pattern based on the received DCI, and receive the CSI-RS using the identified pattern of time and frequency resources.

    Abstract: Techniques are described herein for scheduling communication resources of a bandwidth part (BWP) after a BWP switching event when the frequency range of an active BWP is different than the frequency range of a target BWP. A user equipment (UE) may interpret the resource allocation field in scheduling downlink control information (DCI) that triggers a BWP switching event based on the active BWP. The UE and a base station may be configured to communicate using at least a portion of the resources of the active BWP in the first transmission opportunity after the BWP switching event. In subsequent transmitting opportunities where a scheduling DCI for the target BWP is received by the UE, the UE may interpret the resource allocation field of the new DCI as being based on the target BWP.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit, and a user equipment (UE) may receive a first slot format indicator (SFI) during a first monitoring period for a set of slots associated with the first monitoring period. The base station may transmit, and the UE may receive a second SFI during a second monitoring period that is shorter in duration than the first monitoring period and occurs within the first monitoring period, the second SFI comprising an indication of slot formats for a subset of the slots associated with the second monitoring period. The base station and the UE may perform wireless communications over the subset of slots based at least in part on the first SFI and the second SFI.
