    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an image of high quality having small coloring difference between front and rear surfaces by incorporating a specific amounts of one or more types of surfactants selected from anionic surfactant, nonionic surfactant and amphoteric surfactant in cloth made of a hydrophilic fibrous material. CONSTITUTION:Cloth formed of hydrophilic fibrous material containing 0.1-3wt.% of one or more types of surfactants selected from anionic surfactant, nonionic surfactant and amphoteric surfactant is dyed with ink containing anionic dye. The fibrous material means vegetable fiber, regenerated fiber, animal fiber, semisynthetic fiber and polyamide fiber. Further, if water soluble polymer is incorporated, it is wettable, and hence its viscosity increasing action is accelerated, and immersion prevention is improved. The water soluble polymer means substance for forming uniform aqueous solution. The polymer can be sorted to natural and synthetic pastes. For example, if reactive dye is used, it desirably includes carboxymethylcellulose, sodium alginate, poly(meth)acrylate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain ink jet cloth having high color forming properties by adding an alkali generating agent to cloth containing a cellulosic fiber and setting the respective pH values in a room temp. atmosphere, a heated steam atmosphere of 100 deg.C and a heated atmosphere of 120 deg.C to specific ranges. CONSTITUTION:After an alkali generating agent is applied to cloth containing cellulosic fiber, the cloth is dried at low temp. of below 100 deg.C while the pH thereof is suppressed to 8.5 or less. Next, ink composed of a reaction dye is applied to the cloth according to an ink jet system and, thereafter, the cloth is heat-treated to raise the pH thereof to 9.5 or more to fix the dye. The pref. alkali generating agent is represented by formula I (wherein X1 - X3 is hydrogen or halogen and at least one of them is halogen selected from Cl and Br and M is Na or K). The application amount of the alkali generating agent is pref. 2 - 15% by wt. of the cloth.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a water-insoluble dye pigment ink compsn. for use in ink jet recording, which has excellent drying resistance and dispersion stability and can impart an anti-blotting property, by blending a specified amount of a specified diol with an aq. medium obtd. by finely dispering a water-insoluble dye or pigment. CONSTITUTION:The titled compsn. is obtd. by blending 10-50wt% 4-6C diol (e.g., 1,3-butanediol) with a medium mainly composed of water, obtd. by finely dispersing a water-insoluble dye or pigment therein. By blending said diol, an ink compsn. for use in ink jet recording can be obtd. which does not cause clogging after nozzles are left to stand over a long period of time, has excellent drying resistance and dispersion stability. Since the diol has a relatively low b.p., it is evaporated during the development and deposition of the dye or pigment and is not left behind on a cloth. Thus, the ink compsn. has an anti- blotting effect and is very superior, because the diol has a high affinity with a highly hydrophobic disperse dye, etc.
