Abstract: PURPOSE: A motor driven power steering system for vehicles is provided to prevent contact between a driving motor and driver in a crash accident and reduce the number of mounting support points with a three-point mounting structure which is combined with horizontal bolts and vertical bolts as a medium. CONSTITUTION: A motor driven power steering(MDPS) system for vehicles includes a driving motor(11). A driving motor is fixed while being combined in an MDPS housing(12) which is combined with a steering column(13). The driving motor generates subsidiary steering torque by receiving control current from an electronic control apparatus. The driving motor is installed by being combined with the MDPS housing in a slanted state in order to not make a parallel state of up and down directions with respect to a cowl cross bar(14) and left and right directions corresponded to the longitudinal direction of the cowl cross bar. The driving motor is installed in order to be projected to the upper side of the steering column. The driving is installed with a slope of 70 to 75 degrees with respect to a horizontal line.
