    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance processing aptitude as an electric insulating film by specifying the thickness irregularity and elongation at break of a biaxially oriented polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate film in the longitudinal direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:A film must have thickness irregularity of 0.1 or less and elongation at break of 90% or more in the longitudinal direction thereof. Therefore, polyethylene naphthalate is usually extruded from an extruder at temp. of 280-320- deg.C after drying to be formed into a sheet and this sheet is cooled to 80 deg.C or lower to obtain an amorphous sheet. Next, the amorphous sheet is longitudinally oriented pref. by 1.2-2.5 times at 120-170 deg.C and subsequently laterally oriented by 2.5-5.0 times at 120-170 deg.C to form a biaxially oriented film which is, in turn, further oriented in orientation magnification of 0.5-3.5 times the first stage orientation magnification. As a whole, the longitudinal orientation magnification is set to 2-5 times. Subsequently, the oriented film is thermally fixed especially pref. at 240-255 deg.C and taken up while longitudinally slackened by 1-10% in a cooling zone.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a composite film having excellent UV blocking properties, antistatic properties and close adhesiveness and also having easy adhesiveness by providing a coating layer based on a UV absorbable acrylic resin and a cationic polymer on the surface of a plastic film. CONSTITUTION:When a coating layer is formed on the surface of a plastic film, surface treatment or undercoat treatment is pref. applied because coating properties are improved and the close adhesiveness, water resistance or solvent resistance of the coating layer are improved. As surface treatment, corona discharge treatment, plasma treatment, alkali metal soln. treatment or high frequency sputtering etching treatment can be designated. As a UV absorbable acrylic resin, a copolymer resin of a reactive benzophenone compd. having UV absorbing capacity and an acrylic polymerizable unsaturated group is used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polypropylene film for a capacitor in which moist heat resistant life can be improved and which has excellent productivity without deteriorating other electric characteristics by forming a film formed at least on one side surface and having a specific thickness of water dispersible polyester polyurethane resin in such a manner that its elongation at breakage and tensile strength are specific values. CONSTITUTION:A polypropylene film for a capacitor comprises a film of 0.01-1mum formed on at least one side surface and made of water dispersible polyester polyurethane resin in such a manner that its tensile strength is 300kg/cm or more at 100% of its elongation at breakage. The elongation at breakage of the resin is preferably 50% or less, and when it exceeds 100%, its moist heat resistance is deteriorated, blocking further easily occurs, and releasability at the time of winding is deteriorated. Then, the tensile strength is preferably 450kg/cm or more in view of moist heat resistant lifetime, press adhesion preventive properties. If it is less than 300kg/cm , the moist heat resistant lifetime is insufficient, and the press adhesion preventive properties are deteriorated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a homogeneous biaxially stretched polyphenylene sulfide film having excellent flatness, mechanical characteristics by specifying p- phenylene sulfide unit content and unmelted nucleus residue. CONSTITUTION:Polyphenylene sulfide is used mainly as an object of a poly-p- phenylene sulfide in such a manner that p-phenylene sulfide unit of 90mol% or more exist. This polyphenylene sulfide film needs 10 pieces/g or more of unmelted nucleus residue. The residue is obtained by observing substantially unstretched amorphous sheet under a transmission polarization microscope and counting nuclei of a size having one side of 50mum or more. The residue is controlled by a cylinder temperature, retention time and shearing speed of an extruder when it is pelletized and/or extrusion molded to an amorphous film. Thus, a biaxial stretched polyphenylene sulfide film having excellent flatness, mechanical characteristics is obtained.
