Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inserting at least one binary code in a digital image. SOLUTION: The code is converted to a deformation of contours of objects in the image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint recognition method by comparison of minutiae mapping providing faster confirmation of conformance or nonconformance of two fingerprints than a conventional method. SOLUTION: In the method and a system, a set of minutia of a present image is compared with a set of minutia of a reference image. The minutia are sorted by Cartesian coordinates from a predetermined starting point in an image plane, common paths in similar minutia are retrieved from a reference set and a present set, and if the common paths has a segment of a number larger than a first threshold, it is considered that there is identity between the two images. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for storing and reading digital data on/from a physical medium. SOLUTION: The method and the device to secure storage of digital data on a physical medium equipped with a calculation means by a recorder include, upon first use of the medium in a write mode, a step of memorizing at least one identifier of a reader of the medium in the medium or its calculation means in a non-volatile manner and a step of storing the data in an encrypted manner by an encryption key to be permanently included in the medium or its calculation means. The method and the device are for reading such encrypted data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for scrambling a calculation involving at least one operation taking into account a secret quantity with less resources than heretofore, and to reduce or minimize the storage duration of a random quantity used for the scrambling or unnecessitate the storage of the random quantity. SOLUTION: In the method, at least one intermediary result takes into account at least one secret quantity, modifies the intermediary result with a random quantity, carries on the calculation with the modified result, and restores an expected result at the end of the calculation. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To electrically erase an FAMOS memory cell. SOLUTION: The memory cell is electrically erased by applying a substrate with a voltage VB, having a value less than the threshold predetermined not to break a cell, which is higher at least by 4 volt than a voltage which is the lower of a voltage VS applied to a source and a voltage VD applied to a drain.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of filtering data concerning an electronic program guide(EPG) in a television receiver which comprises a device for automatically searching television channels by supplying to a memory a list of CNI codes of all or some of the channels received by the television receiver. SOLUTION: (I) From the summary of the electronic program guide, a modified summary (28) containing only the information of the summary concerning all or some of the channels received by the television receiver is obtained, and (II) only the data blocks of the contents of the electronic program guide are recorded in a memory (34) when they correspond to all or some of the channels received by the television receiver.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transmitting data between two devices (D1, D2) which can restrain a clock line to an electric potential representing a logic value B opposite to a logic value A respectively using a clock line (CK) maintained at the default value of the logic value A and at least one data line (DT). SOLUTION: By the method of this invention, both devices restrain the clock line to B when the data is transmitted, the device to which the data is transmitted doesn't release the clock line when the device doesn't end reading out the data, and the device which transmits the data maintains the data on the data line at least until when the clock line is released by the device to which the data is transmitted. This method is especially applied to the communication between a microcomputer and a microprocessor.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent access to confidential information. SOLUTION: This integrated circuit has a reference ground voltage Gnd and a power supply voltage Vdd for logical operation and is applied with a high voltage HV. It has a protective device 2 that has, at least, one gate oxide circuit element in combination. The protective device 2 is applied with a logical operation voltage Vdd at the power supply node N of, at least, one of the gate oxide circuit elements when operating normally, but the high voltage VH is applied to break down the gate oxide when malfunctioning.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadband amplifier for a mobile telephone adaptable to various standards. SOLUTION: The amplifier according to this invention includes an input amplifier stage, an output amplifier stage cascaded to the input amplifier stage and a load stage connected to the output stage. In particular, the load stage is provided with plural circuits each of which includes a capacitive component and inductive component each having a Q larger than 10 and a different resonance frequency. All of gain curves respectively associated with all circuits have the same maximum gain value, and gain curves associated with two circuits with an adjacent resonance frequency overlaps within 3 dB below a threshold lower than the maximum gain value. This produces an amplifier which is operable at all frequencies from the lowest to the highest resonance frequency while the ratio of the output noise to the input noise is kept very low.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal that generates an electromagnetic field for communication with at least one transponder, and to provide a method for controlling this terminal. SOLUTION: The terminal is provided with an oscillation circuit, that is excited by a remote supply signal from the transponder, an amplitude demodulator that detects data sent from the transponder, a means for regulating a signal phase of the oscillation circuit of the terminal to be a reference value, a means for measuring a variable linked with a current and a voltage of the oscillation circuit, and a means for comparing the present value of the variable with a prescribed value to decide as to whether the transponder is present.
