    Abstract: 4-(3-Alkenylbenzoyl)pyrazoles of the formula I wherein: R1 and R2 are each hydrogen, nitro, halogen, cyano, thiocyanato, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, OR6, -OCOR7, -OSO2 R7, -SH, -S(O)nR8, -SO2OR6, -SO2 NR6R9, -NR9SO2R7 or -NR9COR7; R3 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, alkenyl or alkynyl; R4 and R5 are each hydrogen, nitro, halogen, cyano, thiocyanato, alkyl, haloalkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, alkynyl, alkylthio, haloalkoxy, -COR10, -CO2 R11, -COSR10, -CONR10R11, -C(R12)=NR13, -PO(OR10)(OR11), alkyl which carries a radical from the following group: hydroxyl, -COR10, -CO2R10, -COSR10, -CONR10R11 or -C(R12)= NR13; heterocyclyl, heterocyclylalkyl (where the heterocyclyl radical of the two last-mentioned radicals is three- to seven-membered, saturated or partially unsaturated, mono- or polycyclic and contains one to three heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur), phenyl, phenylalkyl, hetaryl or hetarylalkyl (where the hetaryl radical of the two last-mentioned radicals is aromatic, mono- or polycyclic and may, in addition to carbon ring members, additionally contain one to 4 nitrogen atoms or one to three nitrogen atoms and one oxygen or one sulfur atom or one oxygen or one sulfur atom), it being possible for the last six radicals to be substituted; or R4 and R5 together form a alkanediyl chain which may be mono- to tetra-substituted by alkyl and/or interrupted by oxygen or sulfur or by nitrogen with or without substitution by; n is 0, 1 or 2; R6 is hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; R7 is alkyl or haloalkyl; R8 is alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; R9 is hydrogen or alkyl; R10 is hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, haloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, phenyl or benzyl, it being possible for the last two radicals to be partially or fully halogenated and/or to carry one to three radicals from the following group: nitro, cyano, alkyl, -haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylcarbonyl or alkoxycarbonyl; R11 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; or R10 and R11 together form a alkanediyl chain which may be mono- to tetra-substituted by alkyl and/or interrupted by oxygen or sulfur or by nitrogen with or without substitution by alkyl; R12 is hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, phenyl or benzyl, it being possible for the last two radicals to be partially or fully halogenated and/or to carry one to three radicals of the following group: nitro, cyano, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylcarbonyl or alkoxycarbonyl; R13 is alkyl, haloalkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, cycloalkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkynyloxy, phenyl, benzyl or phenylalkoxy, it being possible for the last three radicals to be partially or fully halogenated and/or to carry one to three radicals from the following group: nitro, cyano, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylcarbonyl or alkoxycarbonyl; Q is a pyrazole of the formula II, which is linked in position 4; R14 is alkyl, haloalkyl, phenyl or phenyl which is partially or fully halogenated and/or carries one to three of the following radicals: nitro, cyano, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy; R15 is hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkylcarbonyl, haloalkylcarbonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylsulfonyl, haloalkylsulfonyl, phenylalkyl, phenylcarbonyl, phenylcarbonylmethyl, phenoxycarbonyl or phenylsulfonyl, the last five substituents being unsubstituted or the phenyl ring in question being partially or fully halogenated and/or carrying one to three of the following radicals: nitro, cyano, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy; R16 is hydrogen, alkyl or haloalkyl; and agriculturally useful salts thereof. The compounds are useful as herbicides.
