    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a polyester fiber having excellent stain-proofing properties and hydrolytic resistance and a required and sufficient strength as various industrial woven fabrics, etc., and a composition therefor. SOLUTION: This polyester composition comprises a polymer component containing 99.9-70wt.% polyester having g terminal carboxyl group concentration and 0.1-30wt.% copolymer of propylene and vinylidene fluoride and further contains 0.005-1.5wt.% carbodiimide compound in an unreacted state therein. Furthermore, the polyester monofilament or multifilament yarn or industrial woven fabric such as a canvas for a papermaking dryer, a papermaking wire, a filter or a conveyor net used in a bonding process for heat bonding a nonwoven fabric using the monofilament is composed of the polyester composition comprising the polymer component.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester fiber containing a high-molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene together with a flame retardant therein without dripping in combustion. CONSTITUTION: This polyester fiber contains (A) a polytetrafluoroethylene having >=1000000, preferably >=1500000 number-average molecular weight and (B) a flame retardant. The content of the component (A) is preferably 0.02-2.0wt.% and the component (R) is preferably a bifunctional organophosphorus compound of the formula (R1 is an aryl, a 1-6C alkyl, a cycloalkyl, etc.; R2 is a 1-4C alkyl). The yarn manufacturing properties or mechanical characteristics of a polyester are not deteriorated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber with good wear resistance while preventing white powder development or scum staining during the higher-order process therefor, capable of giving fabrics of good touch feeling. CONSTITUTION:This polyester fiber good in wear resistance contains 0.02-2.0-wt.% of silicon oxide particles synthesized by dry process, having 5-50mum in average primary particle diameter, with the silanol groups on the particle surface blocked at >=40mol% with a trimethylsilyl, derivative. Besides, this fiber has the following physical properties: tan delta peak temperature (Tmax): =1.370g/cm ; and birefringence: >=0.085. The original polymer, because of being highly stable in particle dispersibility, causes only a small rise in the pressure inside the pack, and leads to stable operation such as low yarn breakages during spinning process.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce end breakage, stabilize a melt spinning process and improve the properties capable of passing through the processes in higher order processing by admixing a sterol as an end breakage inhibitor with a thermoplastic synthetic polymer and pelt skinning it. CONSTITUTION:With a thermoplastic synthetic polymer, 0.005 to 5wt.%, preferably 0.01 to 2wt.% sterol such as beta-sitosterol is admixed and the resultant mixture is subjected to melt spinning.
