Abstract: The present invention discloses a micro check valve (100) for use in controlling the flow of fluid across a channel (160) in a micro-fluidic system, said valve (100) housed within a valve seat (140) and comprising a polygonal mass (110) connected to a base (120) through a resilient means (130). The mass (110) is a polygonal member with a predetermined thickness having a first side surface (101) exposed to the entry of fluid flowing in the channel (160), a second side surface (102) distanced apart and parallel to the first side surface (101 ), and having a longer length than the first side surface (101 ), a third side surface (103) and a fourth side surface (104) adjoining both ends of the first side surface (101) and the second side surface (102), said third side surface (103) and fourth side surface {104) disposed with a plurality of protruding dimples (106). Elastic deformation of the resilient means (130) due to pressure exerted on the mass (110) controls the flow of fluid across the channel (160), whereby establishment of a sealing contact between the mass (110) and the valve seat (140) blocks the flow of fluid across the channel (160) and a release of sealing contact between the mass (110) and the valve seat (140) allows the flow of fluid across the channel (160).

Abstract: A method of providing a signal to predict trajectory path of an object from a sequence of image is described. The image is analyzed by first collecting common paths (16) of a scene. Then, objects entering the scene are analyzed to determine gaze direction of object (50). Later, a frame-based probability of predicted path based on gaze direction of object in each frame (70) is determined. Next, block-based probability of predicted path based on intervals of a number of frames (74) is determined. The trajectory path can be predicted from highest probability and common path (76).

Abstract: A method where the base station (BS) will ensure the best quality of the multicast data is transmitted by dynamically changing the modulation and coding scheme by which the multicast data is sent to the mobile stations (MS), depending on the factors related to the channel condition of the area the MS have moved to, dynamically moving the MS to a new group based on the modulation and coding scheme that has been selected, assigning a new multicast address to the new group, and the movement of the MS is locally done by the BS, without the intervention of the Access Service Network Gateway (ASN-GW).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for Direct Anonymous Attestation (DAA). The method which involves an issuer, a signer and a verifier, includes join, sign, and verify procedures. Moreover, the DAA method may include a link procedure after the sign procedure. The DAA method is a one-off attestation scheme, wherein the attestation certificate issued by the issuer can only be used once by the signer. If the signer needs to attests itself again, then another attestation certificate needs to be issued by the issuer to the signer.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for object tracking and image projection which may be used for a surveillance system or for providing information to users by way of a display adjacent to users within the monitored area. The system comprises a video camera (200), a light projector (208), housing for the light projector (210), a plurality of motors (202,204,206) for providing movements to the light projector (208), a support pole (216) and a mirror (212) for enabling the light projector (208) to illuminate or project images at the targeted object for tracking by way of reflecting therefore diverting the illumination from the light projector (208). There is further provided a control and processing system (300) connected to the projector (208) and the camera (200) for providing overall system control and further processing of the captured images by the camera (200). The system of the present invention provides continuous tracking of an object within the monitored area upon suitably prompted by the control and processing system (300).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing high polarity crosslinkable co-polymer comprises the steps of: a) purifying the methyl methacrylate, glycidyl methacrylate and tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate monomers by washing with saturated sodium bicarbonate solution, drying with sodium sulfate, magnesium sulfate and stirring over Bao or P205 or CaH2 followed by distillation at atmopheric pressure or under reduced pressure; b) mixing appropriate ratios of methyl methacrylate, glycidyl methacrylate and tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate monomers; c) adding 1 to 5 parts of benzene or toluene solvent to the total volume of the methyl methacrylate, glycidyl methacrylate and tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate monomers; d) adding 3mg to 0.3g of benzoyl peroxide catalyst to the reaction mixture; e) refluxing the reaction mixture at 80 to 100?C for 2 to 20 hours under blanket of argon or purified nitrogen gas; and f) decanting the remaining benzene or toluene solvent, washing the crosslink-able MGT co-polymer with petroleum ether.

Abstract: Model parameter extraction for transistor modeling relies on experimental data provided and any discrepancy therein, if undetected at the outset, results in inaccurate models and delay in device/technology development. The method and apparatus of the present disclosure addresses this problem by introducing a consistency check prior to the model extraction stage. The method requires a set of experimental data, such as measured drain currents from the actual fabricated wafer for consistency check. The experimental data is formatted into readable ASCII or text file data for identification of unique points. A set of computer instructions which form the apparatus that evaluates the data consistency then provides the result of the consistency check to permit or restrain the model parameter extraction stage.

Abstract: A method for information reconciliation in quantum key distribution is introduced herein. In general, a first binary sequence belonging to a sender is being divided and fitted into a first blocks system having a specific number of blocks (103). At the same time, a second binary sequence belonging to a recipient is being divided and fitted into a second blocks system having the same specific number of blocks as the first blocks system (103). The first blocks system and the second blocks system correspond to each other. Parity bit comparison is then carried out between the blocks within the first blocks system and their corresponding blocks within the second blocks system to detect an error that is defined as parity bit discrepancy (107). Once detected, a matrix system within the error block of each first and second blocks systems is extracted, and parity bits of each row and each column of the matrix system within the error block of the first blocks system are compared to the parity bit of its corresponding row and column of the matrix system within the error block of the second blocks system to identify and correct the entry contributing the error (108).
