Abstract: The present invention relates to a gear lever mounted on a console surface in order to operate a transmission of a vehicle, which is configured to comprise a body portion mounted with a lower end to be rotatable from the underneath of the console; and a first motor coupled to rotate the lower end of the body portion, wherein the body portion is rotated in response to operation of the first motor to determine the height of the upper part of the body portion to be protruded from the console surface. The present invention can protrude the body portion on the console surface only when a driver requires the operation, and increase utilization of an interior space by adjusting the protrusion height. The body portion can be lowered below the console surface or in a parallel to the console surface, thereby reducing an injury of passengers when an automobile accident occurs.
