Abstract: Pintado con spray, boquilla de irradiación con UV a través de fibras ópticas promueve la reacción de los procesos cinéticos que están controlados por temperatura, polimerización catiónica y formulación nanostructurada. Una reacción de reticulación es iniciada en una formulación de pintura reactiva. Este revestimiento sobre una superficie al menos localmente, antes de la reacción está finalizado. Las reivindicaciones independientes se incluyen para el equipo que realiza el procedimiento, y para el revestimiento así producido. El equipo emplea un rociador y/o un aplicado electrostático con un alojamiento en campana. Características preferidas: inicio de la reacción preferiblemente emplea iluminación UV (1), en conjunto con al menos un fotoiniciador en la formulación. La cinética de la reacción está controlada por la variación de la temperatura, y/o el uso de una reacción lo suficientemente lenta, especial mente una polimerización catiónica, y/o por un separador espacial de fotoiniciador(es) desde los componentes de la formulación y/o por minimización de reactividad de los fotoiniciador(es). La separación espacial mencionada, es por nanoestructuración de la formulación de la pintura. Etapas adicionales incluyen el mezclado de un agente de protección UV y/o pigmento en la formulación antes del revestimiento. Una pistola manual de rociado (6) aplica la pintura. En el equipo, las fibras ópticas (3, 4) transmiten la luz UV a la formulación de pintura.

Abstract: A composite plate of (i) a >=0.5 mm thick polymer mixture substrate covered with (ii) a polymer layer containing a UV absorber and of scratch resistance higher than (i) where (i) is a mixture containing 1-99 wt.% of: (A) a styrene-butadiene block copolymer, methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene copolymer or methyl methacrylate-acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer; and (B) polystyrene or a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer. A composite plate of (i) a >=0.5 mm thick polymer mixture substrate covered with (ii) a polymer layer containing a UV absorber and of scratch resistance higher than (i) where (i) is a mixture containing 1-99 wt.% of each of: (A) a styrene-butadiene block copolymer, methyl methacrylate-butadiene-styrene (MBS) copolymer or methyl methacrylate-acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (MABS) copolymer; and (B) polystyrene or a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer. An independent claim is also included for production of the plate by applying the cover layer to the optionally adhesive-coated substrate and then hardening using UV- or electron-irradiation.

Abstract: A water dispersible, radiation curable polyurethane comprises organic aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanates, cycloaliphatic diols and/or cycloaliphatic diamines, compounds having at least one isocyanate reactive group and at least one radically polymerizable unsaturated group and compounds having at least one isocyanate reactive group and at least one dispersion aiding group. A water dispersible, radiation curable polyurethane (I) comprises: (A) organic aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanates; (B) cycloaliphatic diols and/or cycloaliphatic diamines; (C) compounds having at least one isocyanate reactive group and at least one radically polymerizable unsaturated group; (D) compounds having at least one isocyanate reactive group and at least one dispersion aiding group; (E) optionally compounds having at least two isocyanate reactive groups having a mol. wt. of less than 1000 g/mol; (F) optionally compounds having at least one isocyanate reactive group that are different to (A)-(D). Independent claims are included for: (i) a polyurethane dispersion (II) comprising the polyurethane (I) and optionally 0-10 wt.% of a photochemical and/or thermal initiator and 0-10 wt.% of a UV absorber and a HALS compound; (ii) a process for the coating of substrates by application of the polyurethane dispersion (II), optionally containing conventional paint additives, onto a substrate and curing by means of electron irradiation or UV light under oxygen, or preferably under inert gas; (iii) the resulting coated substrate.
