Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject mixture stable to preservation, mixable and processable, having high reactivity and scarcely yellowing by including a monoacylphosphine oxide and a diacylphosphine oxide. SOLUTION: This mixture is obtained by including (A) a monoacylphosphine oxide which is preferably a liquid at 21 deg.C and represented by formula I [R is a 1-18C alkyl, phenyl or the like; R is phenyl or the like; R is a 1-18C alkyl, a (substituted)phenyl or the like] (e.g. 2,4,6- trimethylbenzoylethoxyphenylphosphine oxide), (B) a diacylphosphine oxide that is preferably a solid at 21 deg.C and represented by formula II (R is a 1-18C alkyl or the like; R and R are each a 1-18C alkyl, phenyl or the like) [e.g. bis(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)-phenylphosphine oxide]. The contents of the components based on the sum total of the weights of the components A and B are preferably 70-98 wt.% of the component A and 2-30 wt.% of the component B.

SOLUTION: A mixture is obtained by a method comprising the following steps: (a) esterifying a hydroxy compound using acrylic acid or methacrylic acid; (b) if necessary, adding additional acrylic acid or methacrylic acid; and (c) subsequently, reacting an excess amount of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid with epoxides in the presence of the esterified product obtained in the step (a).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radiation-curative compound having an improved curing rate and giving a cured product having improved hardness, flexibility and weatherability by including a specified aliphatic urethane-functional prepolymer, a monofunctional ester of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid with a monofunctional alkanol and di- or poly-functional ester of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid with an aliphatic diol or polyol. SOLUTION: This compound is prepared by mixing 20-90 wt.%, particularly, 30-80 wt.% aliphatic urethane-functional prepolymer having at least two ethylenic unsaturations on the average per molecule with 10-80 wt.%, particularly, 20-60 wt.% monofunctional ester of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid with a monofunctional alkanol having as a structural element at least one saturated five- or six-membered carboxylic ring or a saturated five- or six-membered heterocyclic ring having 1 or 2 ring oxygen atoms and, optionally, 0-40 wt.%, particularly 0-30 wt.% di- or poly-functional ester of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid with an aliphatic di- or polyol.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a uniform coating simply and promptly by setting a process in which a kind of crosslinking reaction is started in a kind of reactive coat composition and a process in which the composition is applied on an area of the surface of a substrate before the generation of the crosslinking reaction. SOLUTION: At least one kind of reactive coat composition is supplied from a storage container to a coating apparatus having a nozzle 6. The light of an exposure apparatus 1 (preferably a UV exposure apparatus, especially a UV laser) is guided from a closure 2 to the coating apparatus (especially just before the nozzle 6) through optical wave guides 3, 4. The composition receives UV exposure directly in the discharge opening clearance of the nozzle 6 before leaving the coating apparatus by each optical wave guide 3, 4. As a result, the crosslinking reaction of the composition is started. The crosslinking reaction is selected or controlled to be started just before the discharge opening clearance when a trigger is not yet advanced.

The component A is a prepolymer having at least 2 of olefin-based double bonds and an urethane group.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing a (meth)acrylic ester by which a light color esterification product is obtained in high yield. SOLUTION: This method for producing a (meth)acrylic ester comprises esterifying acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid with at least one compound having at least one alcoholic hydroxyl group while adding to the reaction system a hydrocarbon with a boiling point of 60-140 deg.C as a water azeotropic agent at 90-150 deg.C in the presence of an acidic esterification catalyst and a polymerization inhibitor, and after esterification, distilling the water azeotropic agent and excess (meth)acrylic acid off at 90-150 deg.C under a normal or reduced pressure, and if necessary, neutralizing the product obtained after distillation with at least one basic inorganic compound, wherein a copper (II) salt or a mixture composed of the copper (II) salt and a copper (I) salt to be deposited after esterification as a copper sulfide and separated is used as the polymerization inhibitor.
