Abstract: PURPOSE: An arc detection apparatus and method are provided to enable predictable problems to be early processed by detecting the sign of arc based on converted and processed arc data. CONSTITUTION: An arc detection apparatus comprises a sensor module(10) and a processor module(30). The sensor module measures arc. The processor module processes data, which has been measured at the sensor module. The sensor module comprises an RGB color sensor, which measures data for the arc, which occurs in a chamber. The RGB color sensor senses one or more of red, green or blue visible areas on the arc. The arc detection apparatus measures the color data, saturation data and brightness data of the occurred arc and detects the arc. The processor module comprises one or more AD converters(22), which converts analogue data from the sensor module to digital data.
