    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which has excellent wear resistance, high residual induction, a narrow switching field distribution, is substantially free from the defects of layer surfaces and has excellent magnetic characteristics and more particularly the characteristic to preserve digital data. SOLUTION: This magnetic recording medium has a nonmagnetic substrate and a magnetizable layer contg. ferromagnetic powder and a compsn. of a high-polymer material. In such a case, the compsn. of the high-polymer material contains A) an isocyanate reactive polymer obtd. by bringing a polymer into reaction with a multifunctional nonaromatic isocyanate and introducing an ionic or ionogenic group therein and B) a polymer obtd. by bringing a highpolymer diol into reaction with 2 to 18c diol, polyhydric alcohol, diisocyanate and amino alcohol.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium capable of being used as a master tape in a high-speed magnetic copying process and capable of introducing the production of many high-quality copy tapes. SOLUTION: The tape-like magnetic recording medium includes a flexible base material having the thickness of at least 15 μm and at least one magnetic layer disposed on one surface of the base material. The magnetic layer has the thickness of at least 3 μm, in which a fine magnetic powder is embedded in a polymer binder. Further, the magnetic layer has the surface porosity rate SSP of at least 80 cm 2 /cm 2 (where, SSP is the value of the product of thickness dM (cm) of the magnetic layer multiplied by a specific surface area (cm 2 /cm 3 ) of the magnetic layer calculated from the nitrogen absorption amount per unit volume by the BET method).     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium nearly free from friction between the surface of a magnetic layer and a magnetic head. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium comprising a substrate, a lower layer and an upper magnetic layer is characterized in that a binder matrix of the upper magnetic layer has at least 50 deg.C glass transition temperature, a binder matrix of the lower layer contains at least one binder having -COO-(R -O)m -R ( wherein, R denotes a hydrocarbon group, R denotes a hydrocarbon group, R denotes an alkylene group and m denotes an integer of 1-4) and at least one compound represented by the formula R -COO-R (wherein R is as defined above and R denotes a hydrocarbon group). The manufacturing method for the magnetic recording medium is also provided.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new recording material, which includes a layer containing powder having silica as a basis, the water resistance of which is improved, which shows a high resolution, the self-adhesion of which to a printing face is low and which can be properly employed to almost all the ordinary kinds of printers. SOLUTION: The powder-containing recording material includes an ink accepting layer. The ink accepting layer includes the following components such as an ink fixer made of the mixture of a water-soluble cationic polymer and a water-insoluble cationic polymer, a soluble plasticizer, polymer particles each having the glass transition temperature of below 25 deg.C and silica particles, the surface of each of which is modified by alkyl silane.
