Abstract: PURPOSE: To compact structure by heating a gaseous heating medium by a second heat exchanger circulated with heated liquid heating medium to perform heating, in an automotive heater equipped with a burner surrounded by a heat exchanger for heating the liquid heating medium. CONSTITUTION: This heater 1 has a closed type liquid circulation path composed of space parts 2-4 communicated with each other, and arranges a liquid fuel actuation type burner 5 in a first space part 2. The burner 5 generates high- temperature combustion gas in a combustion chamber 6, and the gas is direction- converted at the end part of the chamber 6 being in the opposite side to the burner 5 to be flowed down in an intermediate space part being between the chamber 6 and a heat exchanger 8 surrounding the chamber 6, thereby being exhausted from an exhaust gas outlet 9. The space parts 3 and 4, provided with an outlet connection part 13 and an inlet connection part 14 respectively, are communicated with the above space part 2, and a liquid heat exchange medium is circulated with an air heating heat exchanger 10 between, thereby heating and blowing off air as warm air into a car room.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a heating device for automobile having a vaporization burner with an absorbent body in which service life is prolonged by providing, on the combustion chamber side surface of the absorbent body, with a cover of high temperature and corrosion resistant sheet steel distributed with a plurality of openings, like a sieve, on the entire surface thereof. CONSTITUTION: An absorbent body 3 composed of wool and operated by means of liquid fuel, e.g. gasoline, being fed through a fuel pipe 4 is covered, on the surface 5 facing a combustion chamber 6, with a cover 10 of high temperature and corrosion resistant sheet steel. The cover 10 is distributed with a plurality of openings 11 having diameter of 0.1-2.5 mm, like a sieve, on the entire surface thereof. Interval between the openings 11 is set about two times as large as the diameter and the thickness of the cover 10 is set at 0.25-1.0 mm. According to the structure, iterative arrangement of the absorbent bodies 3 is facilitated, fuel can be pretreated reproducibly by means of a vaporization burner and service life can be prolonged by removing stress from the absorbent body.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To raise temperature smoothly and quickly by controlling the heater of an automobile to operate under at least two load states thereby facilitating heat dissipation from the heater. CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanging medium being used functions as a reference input which is the water temperature in case of a water heater. A temperature sensor 4 measuring water temperature θhas an output connected with the input of a trigger 3 incorporating an A/D converter. Circuit threshold value is referred through a logical module 2 and a controller 1 controls the heater depending on a recorded response. A resistor 5 is a compensation resistor for the temperature sensor 4. Output end of the controller 1 is connected with an actuator 6 in order to trigger starting at a combustion air fan 7. The heater is started constantly during partial load operation PL and a larger thermal request occurs during heat conduction cycle through introduction of another temperature threshold. When the temperature drops below the switching threshold, switching is made from partial load operation PL to full load operation PL.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To simplify the assembling of a controller and electric connection unit connected thereto, by providing a controller mounting space directly formed on a jacket-like outer casing for mounting a circuit board of the controller and sensor element on a heater. CONSTITUTION: A liq. heat exchange medium flows via a space 2 between a heat exchanger 3 and jacket-like outer casing 4. Outside the casing 4 a mounting space 8 is formed and controller 11 is mounted in this space 8. The controller 11 has one or more circuit boards and involves a sensor unit composed of a plurality of sensor elements 12, 13 which are mounted on the bottom wall 9 of the space 8. Semiconductor power components 14 are mounted on the side wall 10 of the space 8. An electric connection unit 20 connects an input and output 18 of the controller 11 to each operating part. Conductive components and contact components for connection between the input and output 18 are inserted in a plug-like board 23 attached to the unit 20.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce noise emission by forming an area covering a ring channel tapering uniformly in an area of a discharge opening in a direction from an inner edge to an outer edge of the ring channel. CONSTITUTION: A ring channel 4 having a semicircular-shaped cross section is formed in a housing 2. An inlet opening 8 and a discharging opening 9 are positioned in a peripheral direction of the housing 2. The ring channel 4 is covered by a section 11 of a cross piece-shaped interrupter 16 at a side of the channel 4 that is in proximity to an impeller 3. The section 11 extends from the area of the discharge opening 9 in an upstream direction, i.e., in a direction opposite to a compression direction. Consequently, the section 11 of the interrupter 16 tapers uniformly from an inner edge 6 to an outer edge 5 of the ring channel 4.

A switching gear rotated by an angle smaller than 360 deg. through an eccentric gear device 40 when moving the member between the end positions, is useful for actuation of the switch device. The eccentric gear device has an external gear 44 having an internal toothing tine coaxial to a common shaft 26 of the shift gear device and the eccentric gear device and an internal gear having an external toothing line meashing with the internal toothing line by being journalled to an eccentric connected to the shaft so as not to idly rotate for relative rotation of the internal gear 43 and the eccentric 42.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent combustion gas from entering the interior of an automobile during the operation of a heating system for an automobile. CONSTITUTION: This system includes an auxiliary heater which can be operated independently of an engine of an automobile and is adapted to feed air for heating to the interior of the automobile, wherein a sensor 10 is disposed in the interior not to damage the health of an occupant in the interior and not to produce the danger for the life. The concentration of at least one component of air components in the interior is detected and monitored by the sensor 10. An evaluating device 11 is connected to the sensor 10, and when each concentration of air components in the interior detected and monitored by the sensor exceeds a preset limit value, the heater is automatically intercepted by the evaluating device 11, or is disabled to operate permanently. To be desirable, the oxygen concentration in the air and/or CO/CO2 concentration in the interior 2 of the automobile are detected by the sensor 10. Further, the evaluating device 11 is connected to alarm devices 15, 16 for generating an acoustic signal and/or an optical signal in a case where the detected concentration exceeds the preset limit value.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To preheat fuel economically by placing a fuel preheating pipe section in the flow passage of combustion gases flowing in a heat exchanger in an automobile heater having a heat exchanger wherein heat is transferred between the combustion gases produced by a burner and a heat transfer medium. CONSTITUTION: An automobile heater 1 has a burner 2 burning fuel from a fuel feed pipe 3, and high-temperature combustion gases generated therein are supplied to a heat exchanger 5, where the temperature of a heat transfer medium flowing in the heat exchanger 5 is elevated by heat exchange. The combustion gases after the heat exchange flow to an exhaust gas collecting chamber 6 and flow out via an exhaust gas outlet 7. In this case, a fuel preheating pipe section 10 in the form of a pipe loop 11 is placed near the exterior wall 12 of the exhaust gas collecting chamber 6 upstream of the outlet 7 along the flow direction of exhaust gas toward the outlet 7. The suction side and release side of the pipe loop 11 are branchingly connected to the fuel fed pipe 3 upstream of a filter 13.
