CONSTITUTION: A passenger type sensing apparatus for a vehicle comprises a seat unit(300), a sensor unit(200), and a seat pad unit(100). The sensor unit is installed inside the seat unit. The sensor unit detects the difference of the permittivity of passengers who sit on the upper part of the seat unit. The seat pad unit is installed on the lower part of the sensor unit. The seat pad unit has multiple drain holes. The drain holes discharge the moisture absorbed from the seat unit.

CONSTITUTION: A passenger identification apparatus for a vehicle comprises first and second power supply units(40,44), a sensor unit, and first and second switches(400,410). The first power supply unit outputs AC voltage and the second power supply unit outputs DC voltage. The capacitance between a vehicle body and the sensor unit is changed with the AC voltage component of the first power supply unit according to the electric permittivity of a passenger. The sensor unit generates heat with the DC voltage component of the second power supply unit. The first switch is connected between the first power supply unit and the sensor unit and the second switch is switched alternately with the first switch.
