    Abstract: A mobile device including a hard disk drive performing changeable track seek profile and a method of operating the same are provided to change a maximum value of track seek current and a sliding mode section of the hard disk drive based on external and internal power supplies for reducing power consumption. A mobile device(100) comprises a host(115), and a hard disk drive(120). The host checks whether an external power supply(105) is used and generates a command based on the checking result. The hard disk drive generates track seek current having current profile in which a maximum value and a sliding mode section in response to the command. The hard disk drive includes a controller, a VCM driver, and an actuator. The controller generates the track seek current of first current profile having a first maximum value and a first sliding mode section when the hard disk drive uses an internal power supply(110), and generates the track seek current of second current profile having a second maximum value and a second sliding mode section when the hard disk drive uses the external power supply.
