Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for forming a water jacket core for cylinder block casting is provided to prevent damage during forming due to thickness difference of the core by forming the insert core after interposing an insert core between each cylinders of a water jacket core forming a cooling water passage of an engine at outside the cylinders. CONSTITUTION: In a method for forming a water jacket core for cylinder block casting in which the water jacket core(1) for cylinder block casting assembled between a bore core and front, rear, left and right side cores is manufactured, the method comprises a first step(S1) of forming an insert core(9) for mounting the insert core(9) onto a tiller part of a water jacket core(1) corresponding to a space between each cylinders; a second step(S2) of installing the insert core(9) formed in the first step at a corresponding position between each cylinders of a whole water jacket core mold(11); and a third step(S3) of forming a water jacket core finished product by blowing after injecting mold sand into the water jacket core mold(11), wherein the insert core(9) is consisted of a sand tiller made of the mold sand.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A casting method of an aluminum bed plate is provided to increase stiffness as a whole by casting the bed plate so that a bed plate made of an aluminum material envelopes crank journals at journal parts of the aluminum bed plate, thereby reinforcing cohesiveness therebetween. CONSTITUTION: In a casting method of an aluminum bed plate integrally casting crank journals made of different materials supporting a crank shaft with an aluminum bed plate, the casting method of the aluminum bed plate(3) comprises a first process of assembling a lower mold onto the upper surface of a lower base on which a filter is mounted at one side of a runner part one side of which is connected to a down sprue to form a moving passage of molten metal in such a manner that the lower mold is assembled onto the upper surface of the lower base by conforming to ingates of the lower mold correspondingly to the runner part; a second process of assembling the crank journals(1) into the lower mold by inserting the assembling protrusions into the assembling holes(23) after forming assembling holes at both sides of the ingates at each engraving parts of the lower mold corresponding to journal parts(17) of the bed plate(3) in the state that the lower base is assembled into the lower mold in the first process, and forming assembling protrusions corresponding to the assembling holes(23) at the crank journals(1) made of different materials; a third process of encircling and assembling the crank journals(1) into dowel grooves a plurality of which are formed along the edge of the lower mold using front and rear, and left and right side molds through dowel pins at the lower part after the second process; a fourth process of casting the bed plate(3) by assembling an upper mold on the upper part of the front and rear, and left and right side molds that are installed in the third process and assembling a molten metal injection cup for the mother body of the bed plate onto the upper mold correspondingly to the sprue, thereby injecting molten aluminum through the molten metal injection cup; and a fifth process of casting the bed plate(3) by removing the upper and lower molds and each of the side molds after the molten aluminum is hardened after the fourth process.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A casting method of an aluminum cylinder block is provided to improve fusion between cast iron liners and the aluminum cylinder block by injecting a small amount of molten metal into the liners in advance to preheat the liners with heat of the molten metal before casting the cylinder block in a mold. CONSTITUTION: The casting method of an aluminum cylinder block comprises a first process of integrally forming liner supporting cores on the upper surface of a head face core, and inserting cast iron liners through the liner supporting cores so that the cast iron liners are mounted on the upper surface of the head face core; a second process of assembling water jacket cores onto the outer side of the liners mounted on the upper surface of the head face core in the first process through core prints; a third process of assembling the head face core, liners and water jacket cores integrally assembled in the second process into runner parts of a lower mold through the head face core; a fourth process of front, rear, left and right side molds(15,17,19) are assembled into dowel grooves a plurality of which are formed along the edge of the lower mold as covering the liners and water jacket cores through dowel pins of the lower part after the third process; a fifth process of assembling an upper mold at the upper part of the front, rear, left and right side molds(15,17,19) installed in the fourth process, assembling a liner preheating molten metal injection cup corresponding to the upper part of the liners on the upper mold, and installing a molten metal injection cup for the mother body of the cylinder block corresponding to a down sprue of the upper mold; a sixth process of preheating the liners by injecting a small amount of molten aluminum through the liner preheating molten metal injection cup assembled in the fifth process; and a seventh process of casting the cylinder block along with the liners preheated in the sixth process by injecting the molten aluminum through the molten metal injection cup for the mother body of the cylinder block after the sixth process.
