Abstract: Production of (meth)acrylic acid esters comprises acid catalyzed esterification of (meth)acrylic acid with the corresponding alcohol in a reaction zone equipped with a distillation unit followed by separation of the catalyst and distillation of (meth)acrylic acid product. A process for the production of (meth)acrylic acid esters by acid catalyzed esterification of (meth)acrylic acid with the corresponding alcohol in the homogeneous liquid phase in the presence of polymerization inhibitors and/or inhibitor mixtures comprises: (A) esterification in a reaction zone equipped with a distillation unit to separate the co product water together with olefin, alcohol, acetic acid ester and propionic acid ester, followed by condensation and separation into an aqueous and organic phase with; (B) transfer of the outlet from the reaction zone in step 1 to a catalyst separation step with separation into a esterification catalyst containing sump product and a (meth)acrylic acid containing head product with; (C) distillation of (meth)acrylic acid from the head product; and (D) transfer of the remaining (meth)acrylic acid ester to a low boiling separation process to remove acetic acid ester and starting; (E) alcohol transfer of the (meth)acrylic acid ester to a distillation process to separate high b. pt. byproducts followed by a thermal and/or catalytic treatment.

A process for the production of basic dialkylaminoethyl(meth)acrylates by esterification of (meth)acrylic acid alkyl esters of formula (1) in the presence of a catalyst and distillation processing of the reaction mixture is characterized in that the residence time of the reaction mixture in the reaction zone is 1.5-3 h. R = H or methyl; and R = R minus at least one C atom. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of basic (meth) acrylic acid esters of formula (2) by esterification of a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester of formula (1) in the presence of a catalyst and distillation processing of the reaction mixture such that an inert gas or inert gas mixture is fed through the reaction zone and/or heat exchanger under reaction conditions. R = 2-12C alkyl, optionally unsaturated, substituted with at least one NR 2 group; and R = 2-6C alkyl, optionally substituted, whereby N and R may form a 5-7 membered ring.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing (meth)acrylic acid esters IV by means of transesterification of a (meth)acrylic acid ester I with an alcohol R OH comprising at least one more carbon atom than the alcohol constituents (R O-) in the (meth)acrylic acid ester I to be subjected to transesterification, in the presence of a catalyst or a catalyst mixture. Either essentially the (meth)acrylic acid ester I is separated and then the catalyst used is separated by distillation (catalyst separation), or the catalyst used is separated by distillation first (catalyst separation), and then essentially the (meth)acrylic acid ester I is separated, from the reaction product of the transesterification. Constituents from the mixture obtained, which have a lower boiling point than the (meth)acrylic acid ester IV, are essentially separated by distillation (separation of constituents at low boiling point), and the (meth)acrylic acid ester IV is then purified by distillation (purification by distillation).

La mezcla de productos descargada de la zona de reaccion se alimenta a una unidad (I) de rectificacion, en esta unidad la mezcla de productos descargada se separa mediante rectificacion en por lo menos un producto (I) que comprende el éster de alquilo del ácido (met)acrílico y un producto (II) que comprende el catalizador, el producto (I) se alimenta a una unidad (II) de rectificacion adicional y en ésta el éster de alquilo de ácido (met)acrílico se separa mediante rectificacion.
