The surface area of the zinc oxide is min 10 m2/g, pref over 30 m2/g; technical grade zinc carbonate is used, of formula 5Zno.2C02.3H20 The oxide and carbonate are blended with water (10-60 wt%, pref 20-50%, taken as proportion of total content), blending time 1-10h, usually 1-5h. The mixt is formed, and dried, and calcined.
