    Abstract: Fillable, softener-containing aqueous polymer dispersion contains softener comprising at least one AB, ABA and/or BAB block copolymer with the blocks bonded either directly or via linking groups, where A is a hydrophobic or acidic block with a C-C main chain derived from (meth)acrylic acid and/or an aliphatic olefin or diene with 2-5C and B is a hydrophilic polyether block. Fillable, softener-containing aqueous dispersion of a polymer containing at least 30 wt.% monomers from 1-10C alkyl ester or nitrile of methacrylic and/or acrylic acid or the vinyl ester with a 2-12C monocarboxylic acid has a solids content of at least 20 wt.%. The softener is at least one AB, ABA and/or BAB block copolymer with the blocks bonded either directly or via linking groups, where A is a hydrophobic or acidic block with a C-C main chain derived from (meth)acrylic acid, 1-10C alkyl-(meth)acrylate, styrene, vinyl ester of a 2-12C monocarboxylic acid and/or an aliphatic olefin or diene with 2-5C and B is a hydrophilic polyether block derived from ethylene oxide (EO), propylene oxide (PO) and/or butylene oxide (BO).

    Abstract: Radically initiated aqueous emulsion polymerisation process giving an aqueous polymer dispersion comprises emulsifying an ethylenically unsaturated group-containing compound(s) in aqueous medium using a dispersing agent and polymerising either using a radical polymerisation initiator in the presence of a stable N-oxyl radical(s) or using a compound(s) which decomposes on heating into a stable N-oxyl radical(s) and a radical polymerisation initiator. The emulsion obtained comprises droplets of diameter at most 500 nm and is polymerised by increasing the temperature. Also claimed are the obtained aqueous polymer dispersions.

    Abstract: Production of aqueous polymer dispersions (APD) by radical-initiated emulsion polymerisation of a mixture of : (I) radically polymerisable organo-silicon compounds which form silanols on hydrolysis with water; and (II) radically polymerisable compounds other than (I). The process comprises using at least part of (I) and at least part of (II) to make an aqueous emulsion in which the disperse phase consists mainly of droplets with a diameter of \}500 nm, then using this emulsion for polymerisation as above.     Abstract: A process is disclosed for emptying hoses filled with viscous masses. A hose containing a viscous mass (E) is clamped in a device which includes a tubular member (A), the hose is conveyed through the tubular member while the hose sheath is slit open in the longitudinal direction, the open hose sheath is separated from the viscous mass, and the viscous mass leaves the device through a discharge opening.     Abstract: In the production of aqueous polymer dispersions by free radical emulsion polymerisation of monomers, a mini-emulsion (I) is added before or during polymerisation. (I) is an aqueous emulsion, stabilised with a surfactant, which contains emulsified monomer droplets with a particle size of 10-500 nm and a co-stabiliser, dissolved in the monomer, which is at least twice as soluble in the monomer as it is in water. Also claimed are polymer dispersions obtained in this way.
