Abstract: In a process for preparing polytetrahydrofuran, polytetrahydrofuran copolymers or diesters or monoesters thereof by polymerization of tetrahydrofuran in the presence of at least one telogen and/or comonomer over acid-activated montmorillonite catalysts, the montmorillonite catalyst after acid activation has a ratio of montmorillonite structure to the sum of muscovite and kaolin structures, determined from the intensities of the reflections at 2theta=5.5° for montmorillonite, 2theta=9.0° for muscovite and 2theta=12.5° for kaolin measured in the X-ray powder pattern, of at least 5:1.

Abstract: Procedimiento para la hidrogenación de piridina, de una alquilpiridina o de una mezcla formada por dos o varios de los mismos mediante puesta en contacto de la piridina o de la alquilpiridina o de la mezcla formada por dos o varios de los mismos, con un gas que contenga hidrógeno a temperaturas en el intervalo desde 50ºC hasta 120ºC, en presencia de un catalizador, que comprende como metal activo rutenio solo o aplicado sobre un soporte junto con al menos un metal de los grupos de transición I o VII del sistema periódico, estando formado desde un 10 hasta un 50 % del volumen de los poros del soporte por macroporos con un diámetro de los poros en el intervalo desde 50 nm hasta 10.000 nm y desde un 50 hasta un 90 % del volumen de los poros del soporte por mesoporos con un diámetro de los poros en el intervalo desde 2 hasta 50 nm, dando el 100 % la suma de los volúmenes de los poros.
