    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily and quickly confirm desired area and destination by making a line shape light emitting means emit or flash light in a specific color. CONSTITUTION:The line shape light emitting means 3 emits or flashes the light sent from a light source 1 via a light transmission hose 2 in line shape from a station entry to a platform along the path of a station, etc., and four diffused light tubes 3A-3D are used at every line of each system. The diffused light tubes 3A-3D are formed with cores made of the same transparent material as that of the light transmission hose 2, and of transparent material with refractive index lower than that of the core. In the diffused light tube 3, the light sent from the light transmission tube 2 advances the core, and total reflection occurs on an inner peripheral surface, however, no total reflection of the light on another inner peripheral part occurs, and the light passes the inside of a clad, and it can be efficiently emitted from an outer peripheral surface to the outside. Also, the light is shielded by mounting an opaque casing on half periphral surface through which no light transmits out of the outer peripheral surfaces of the clad.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain high safety optimum for illumination in a dangerous area easy to generate induced explosion by fire, etc., by supplying light from a light source provided at a place separated from the dangerous area to the dangerous area via a light transmission hose. CONSTITUTION:An incandescent lamp, for example, is used as the lamp adaptive for the one for the illumination of a warehouse 4, and it is housed in a lamp house 1A outside the warehouse 4. The light transmission hose 2 is formed in such a way that a core in viscous liquid shape is filled in a polymer clad worked in flexible pipe shape and both terminals of the clad are sealed with a transparent window. As the clad, the one with refractive index lower than that of the core is used. A light emitting means is to perform the illumination of the warehouse 4 by diffusing the light transmitted on the light transmission hose 2, and a light diffusing tube 3 is used as the means. The light sent out from the light transmission hose 2 advances the core of the light diffusing tube 3 and no total reflection of a part of the light occurs on an inner peripheral plane, and it transmits the clad, then, it is emitted from an outer peripheral plane to the outside with high efficiency.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To freely illuminate the corner part of a room and an external desired part, etc., and to reduce power consumption by performing illumination with minimum one lamp by providing an illumination means which emits and diffuses light transmitted to a light transmission hose in line shape. CONSTITUTION:The light transmission hose 2 is formed in such a way that a core in viscous liquid shape is filled in a macromolecule clad worked in flexible pipe shape and both terminals of the clad are sealed with a transparent window. As the clad, the one with refractive index lower than that of the core is used. The illumination means 3 is formed so as to emit light of specific color sent from a light source 1 via the light transmission hose 2 almost uniformly in line shape, and a light diffusing tube 3 is used in the means. The light sent out from the light transmission hose 2 advances the core of the light diffusing tube 3 and total reflection occurs on an inner peripheral plane on one side. however, no total reflection of a part of the light occurs on the inner peripheral plane on the other side, and it transmits the clad and is emitted to the outside with high efficiency.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high-molecular polymer at a low cost by causing a monomer vapor to generate an ionized gas plasma under a pressure of about 1-atm, causing the plasma to initiate the polymn. of a monomer, and carrying out most part of the polymn. in the absence of the plasma. CONSTITUTION:A monomer (or an aq. soln. or emulsion of the monomer) (e.g. a 50% aq. soln. of acrylamide) 2 is put into a treating chamber 1 where a plasma of the atmospheric pressure is generated; while a gas (e.g. helium) is being supplied through a gas supply pipe 3, voltage from an a.c. supply 4 is applied to a conductive pipe electrode 5 to form a discharge zone between electrodes 5 and 6 to thereby initiate the polymn. in a similar way to the conventional plasma-initiated polymn.; after a plasma is generated for a predetermined time, the gas supply pipe 3 and an exhaust pipe 7 are closed; and while the temp. of the treating chamber 1 is kept constant, the polymn. is conducted. In the above process, an ionized gas plasma is generated under a pressure of 0.2-3atm, pref, about 1atm.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for post-polymerization in plasma- initiated polymerization and to obtain an intended polymer in high yield by using a low-frequency discharge to generate a gaseous plasma. CONSTITUTION:The method comprises generating a gaseous plasma in a vapor containing a monomer to initiate the polymerization of the monomer and carrying out most of the polymerization in the absence of the plasma, the plasma generation being conducted by using a low-frequency discharge. As the discharge is used a glow discharge generating a non-equilibrium plasma. For the plasma generation, any of known techniques can be used such as the capacitive coupling method and the inductive coupling method. Preferred examples of the monomer include compounds having one ethylenic double bond, of which vinyl monomers are particularly preferred.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance bonding strength by treating the surface of a fluoroplastic- containing sheet having a metal layer or a layer composed of a synthetic resin other than fluoroplastic laminated to one surface thereof in a helium gas atmosphere according to an atmospheric pressure glow plasma method to hydrophilize the same. CONSTITUTION:A weather-resistant sheet is obtained by laminating a metal layer or a layer composed of a synthetic resin other than fluoroplastic to one surface of a fluoroplastic-containing sheet. In this case, the surface of the fluoroplastic-containing sheet is treated in a helium gas atmosphere according to an atmospheric pressure glow plasma method to be made hydrophilic. For example, an object to be treated is arranged in a treatment chamber where plasma is formed and helium gas is supplied into the treatment chamber to perform the surface treatment of the object to be treated. That is, two electrodes 3 are arranged in the treatment chamber 1 to which a helium gas supply pipe 2 is connected in opposed relationship and an AC power supply 4 is connected to one of the electrodes and the other electrode is earthed and the sheet like object 5 to be treated is moved between the electrodes 3 by a pair of rollers 6 to be subjected to surface treatment.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of utilizing a target material and to additionally uniformize the thickness or thickness distribution of the thin film with which the surface of a base material is coated as well as to obviate the generation of damages by plasma on the base material to be coated or the thin film formed on the base material. CONSTITUTION:This method consists in coating the base material 22 with the thin film of the target material 20 by a magnetron sputtering device 1 provided with the target material 20, a main magnet 10 which is disposed on the side not facing the base material 22 to be coated with the target material and an auxiliary magnet 12 which is disposed at least within the plane inclusive of the target material or on the side of the target material facing the base material. The above-mentioned auxiliary magnet 12 is controlled in order to vary the position of the plasma region formed in the space on the base material side of the target material and/or plasma density.
