Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound useful as a detergent in high efficiency by reacting a sugar with a higher alcohol and removing the alcohol from the obtained alkylglycoside containing unreacted higher alcohol using a spontaneous liquid film evaporator and a forced thin film evaporator. CONSTITUTION:An alkylglycoside produced by the direct reaction of preferably a monosaccharide and a higher alcohol and containing unreacted higher alcohol is evaporated with a spontaneous liquid film evaporator until the content of the alcohol in the alkylglycoside is decreased to 30-60wt.%. Abstract: PURPOSE:To readily and continuously obtain the subject compound with a high selectivity in a high yield while making the residence time short by carrying out a reaction between an aliphatic alcohol and polyphosphoric acid in a hydrocarbon-based solvent in a tubular reactor. CONSTITUTION:Using a tubular reactor, 8-36C chain aliphatic alcohol (e.g. octyl alcohol) is reacted with polyphosphoric acid in a hydrocarbon-based solvent (preferably cyclohexane, etc.) to obtain the objective compound. In addition, removal of heat of the reaction is preferably improved in the initial stage of the reaction using a multi-tubular reactor (d) and mixing and heat transfer in the reaction tube are preferably promoted in the initial stage of the reaction by equipping a static mixer in the flow path of the tubular reactor. As the direction of the liquid flow in the tubular reactor, rising flow or lowering flow is preferable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound in good efficiency by adding a small amount of lower alcohol to a specified liquid mixture and a solvent in an extractor for continuous extraction by counter-current contact with the solvent so as to demulsify the emulsion state. CONSTITUTION:When a mixed solution of a phosphoric acid ester salt [e.g. a salt containing a monoalkyl phosphoric acid ester of the formula (R is 8-36C alkyl or alkenyl) as a main component] and a nonionic compound (e.g. organic hydroxyl compound) is continuously brought into counter-current contact with 4-8C aliphatic hydrocarbon or 5-7C saturated alicyclic hydrocarbon (preferably n-pentane) using an extractor to extract the nonionic compound into the solvent and separate the nonionic compound, a 1-4C alcohol (preferably ethanol is added so that the lower alcohol concentration in the mixed solution may become an amount of 0.5-2 pts.wt. based on 1 pts.wt. water and 1-5wt.% based on 1 pts.wt. solvent) is fed from one or more places to carry out the extraction.
