Abstract: PURPOSE:To readily and continuously obtain the subject compound with a high selectivity in a high yield while making the residence time short by carrying out a reaction between an aliphatic alcohol and polyphosphoric acid in a hydrocarbon-based solvent in a tubular reactor. CONSTITUTION:Using a tubular reactor, 8-36C chain aliphatic alcohol (e.g. octyl alcohol) is reacted with polyphosphoric acid in a hydrocarbon-based solvent (preferably cyclohexane, etc.) to obtain the objective compound. In addition, removal of heat of the reaction is preferably improved in the initial stage of the reaction using a multi-tubular reactor (d) and mixing and heat transfer in the reaction tube are preferably promoted in the initial stage of the reaction by equipping a static mixer in the flow path of the tubular reactor. As the direction of the liquid flow in the tubular reactor, rising flow or lowering flow is preferable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable simple and continuous obtaining of the subject compound in high purity and yield under mild reaction conditions by reacting lecithin with a specific enzyme in the presence of an organic solvent and water. CONSTITUTION:An enzyme capable of hydrolyzing lecithin into phosphatidic acid and a nitrogen-containing base is selected to provide a phospholipase D (A). An enzyme capable of hydrolyzing the lecithin into a diglyceride and a phosphoryl base is selected to afford an enzyme (B) such as phospholipase C or phosphodiesterase. The ingredients (A) and (B) are then separately (C and D) or simultaneously (E) immobilized on one or more inorganic carriers such as a cellular ceramic for immobilization to afford the immobilized enzymes (C), (D) and (E). The lecithin is blended with an organic solvent having 7-15solubility parameter at 1:(1-100) weight ratio to afford a substrate solution (F). The ingredient (F) in an amount of 0.5-10pts.wt. based on 1pt.wt. respective ingredients (C) to (E) and water in an amount without exceeding the weight of the organic solvent are subsequently added thereto to carry out reaction and afford a reaction product, which is then product, which is then subjected to distilling away of the solvent and purification to produce phosphatidic acid.
