    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject improving agent excellent suppressing activity on a spontaneously generated swelling and weight reducing activity, and manifesting the effectiveness either by an oral use or by an external use on a skin, by making the agent containing α-glycosylated rutin as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This swelling improving agent contain α-glycosylated rutin e.g. expressed by the formula (at least one of R to R is a monosaccharide or an oligo saccharide residue and the rests are H) as an active ingredient. Further, in order to obtain the above rutin, e.g. preferably a glycosyl residue transferease such as a glycosidase is effected on a composition obtained by adding a partially hydrolyzed starch as a saccharide donating material to the rutin, and in the case of oral administration, 0.01-10g as the α-glycosylated rutin for an adult daily and in the case of external agent of the skin, 0.01-10wt.% were preferably blended.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect easily and accurately skin surface porphyrin inclusive of a measurement place as a color image and conduct observation by preventing the temperature ascent of a CCD by cooling the CCD by means of a cooling mechanism, using feeble ultraviolet rays that contain visible light and do not have a bad effect on a skin. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a Peltier cooling type CCD color camera 4, cooling is carried out by means of a Peltier element to prevent the temperature ascent of a CCD module. Also, the temperature ascent of the Peltier element is cooled by means of a circulation liquid from a cooling drive unit 5. Thus, when spectrum is received, a color image signal that is normal at all times can be outputted. As a result, skin surface porphyrin can be detected and observed quickly with ease and accuracy as a color stationary image through a TV monitor 7 even at a feeble ultraviolet ray quantity without causing a bad effect on a skin. Also, visible light is contained in irradiation light from a light source 1, too, so the contour of the place of a human body also can be indicated as an image, and a porphyrin measurement place can come to be grasped clearly.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A skin external preparation having inhibitory effect on sebum secretion free from side effects, useful for improving and preventing excess secretion of sebum, containing extracted essence of walnut leaves and/or pericarp. CONSTITUTION:The titled preparation containing extracted essence of walnut leaves and/or pericarp. Sebum secreted from sebaceous gland is necessary for making the skin flexible and smooth, plays an important part in prevention of various irritating substances from outside of body and provides scalp with a proper oil component required for hair. But, too much secretion of sebum causes acne and skin troubles such as multiplication of pathogenic bacteria, etc. The extracted essence of walnut effectively suppresses excess secretion of sebum and yet has no side effect even by long-term use. The skin external preparation can be used as a medicinal skin external preparation containing an emulsified or oily skin cosmetic, hair cosmetic or another drug.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate a conspicuity of pores with high reproducibility.
    SOLUTION: The conspicuity of the pores is evaluated by making measurement data on a shape of an interface between the epidermis-dermis of an epidermal structure around the pores serve as an evaluation parameter for evaluating the conspicuity of the pores. In terms of the evaluation parameter, a plurality of images different in measurement depth are acquired as to the pore and a region around them by using a confocal laser scanning microscope. In the images, an islandlike region, which is composed of the dermis, appears in an epidermal region around the pores as the measurement depth gets greater; the islandlike region gets larger as the measurement depth gets further greater; and the image, wherein the outside of the emidermal region including the islandlike region serves as a dermal region, is found out. In the image, an area (area S of a dermal papillae forming region) surrounded by the dermal region can be used.
