Abstract: A transparent polyether-ester amide having a permanently antistatic property is obtained by copolymerizing (a) an aminocarboxylic acid, a lactam, or a salt derived from a diamine and a dicarboxylic acid; (b) a diol of the formula: wherein R and R are an ethylene oxide or propylene oxide group, Y is covalent bond, alkylene, alkylidene, cycloalkylidene, arylalkylidene, O, SO, SO2 , CO, S, CF2 , C(CF3)2 or NH, X is H, alkyl, halogen, sulfonic acid or salt thereof, l is 0 or an integer of 1 - 4, and m and n an integer of 1 - 15; (c) a poly(alkylene oxide)glycol or a diol of the formula: HO - R - OH (IV) wherein R is alkylene, alkylidene, cycloalkylidene or arylalkylidene; and (d) a dicarboxylic acid; wherein the content of the polyether-ester units is 10 to 90 wt.%. The polyether-ester amide is used preferably as a blend thereof with a graft copolymerization product formed by graft-polymerizing (a) a rubbery polymer with (b) a monomer mixture of a methacrylic or acrylic acid ester, an aromatic vinyl monomer and an optional vinyl cyanide monomer, this product having a refractive index approximately similar to that of the polyether-ester amide.

CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. is prepd. by compounding: 30-90wt.% copolymer nylon comprising 80-20wt.% hexamethyleneterephthalamide units and 20-80wt.% hexamethyleneadipamide or -caproamide units; 5-35wt.% flame retardant contg. a halogenated polystyrene or a halogenated polyphenylene ether having a halogen content of 50-70wt.% and wt.-average mol.wt. of 5000 or higher; 1-10wt.% at least one flame retardant aid selected from the group consisting of Sb2O3, sodium antimonate, tin oxide, iron oxide, and zinc oxide; and, as an optional component, 50wt.% or lower inorg. reinforcement (e.g. glass fiber).

CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating 100 pts. by wt. of acomposition comprising (A) 5-80 pts. by wt. of apolyetheramide copolymer and (B) a graft copolymer prepared by polymerization, in the presence of B1: 1-80 pts. by wt. of a rubbery polymer, of B2: 99-20 pts. by wt. of a monomer mixture of i) 100-40 wo.% of a (meth) acrylic ester and/or aromatic vinyl monomer and ii) 0-60 wt.% of a second vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith and/or (C) 95-20 pts. by wt. of another polymer prepared by polymerization between C1: 100-40 wt.% of (meth) acrylic eter and/or aromatic vinyl monomer and C2: 0-6 wt.% of another vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith with (D) 0-5 pts. by wt. of sulfonic and metal salt.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a commposition having good matte appearance and excellent thermal and mechancal properties by compounding an ABS resin, a polyamide resin and a polyglutarimide resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin composition can be prduced by compounding (A) 1-90 pts.wt. of an ABS resin having a graft ratio of 20-80% and produced by the graft-polymerization of an aromatic vinyl monomer, a vinyl cyanide monomer and, asnecessary, other copolymerizable monomer to a diene rubber having an average particle diameter of 0.1-3mum, (B) 1-80 pts.wt. of a polyamide resin and (C) 1-60 pts.wt. of a polyglutarimide resin having an imide content of 30-80mol% and a melt-viscosity of 6,000-12,000 poise at 270 deg.C (at a shearing rate of 500cm ). The sum of the components A, B and C is 100 pts.wt.
