    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound which is a kind of protected amino acid useful for peptide synthesis, suppressing racemization in high yield, by adding a specific reaction reagent to the reaction system, thereby suppressing the hydrolysis of benzyl halide even in a system containing water. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide is added to a reaction system containing D- or L-N-t-butoxycarbonylserine and a benzyl halide or, as an alternative method, a benzyl halide and an aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide are simultaneously added to a reaction system containing D- or L-N-t-butoxycarbonylserine and the components are made to react with each other in a solvent such as dimethylformamide at 0-30 deg.C for 0.5-3hr to obtain the objective compound. Since alkali metal hydroxide has high solubility in aqueous solvent, the reaction can be carried out without using a large amount of solvent and the recovery of the solvent is facilitated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the fluctuation in the positive electrostatic charge quantity among toner particles by incorporating metal complex of arom. oxyaldehydes as an electric charge control agent into a titled compsn. CONSTITUTION:The metal complex of the arom. oxyaldehydes expressed by the formula is added as the charge control agent to the developer compsn. In the formula, R denotes H, (un)substd.alkyl, halogen. For example, a Mn complex or Co complex of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthoaldehyde, etc., are usable for said complex. This complex is used by being added and dispersed into a binder resin of a one-component or two-component developer or being adhered to the surface of the toner particles in the case of using the complex for said developers. The complex is added to a coating agent or binder of a carrier to control the electrostatic charge of the toner in the case of using the complex for the carrier.

This complex may be added to any part of the compsn. if said complex can exhibit the positive electrostatic chargeability thereof. The complex is used by being dispersed in a resin binder or being stuck to the surface of the toner particles in the case of using the complex for a one-component developer or two-component developer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a lysine derivative useful as pharmaceuticals, etc., in high efficiency, without using expensive protected lysine, by hydrolyzing an acylated alpha-aminto-epsilon-caprolactam derivative. CONSTITUTION:The objective lysine derivative acylated with amino acid or peptide can be produced by hydrolyzing an alpha-amino-epsilon-caprolactam derivative wherein the alpha-amino group is acylated with an amino acid or peptide (e.g. glycine, alanine, tyrosine, etc.), preferably in the presence of an acid catalyst such as mineral acid or a bass catalyst such as alkali metal hydroxide. The amount of the catalyst is preferably 2-4mol per 1mol of the substrate and the hydrolysis temperature is 60-90 deg.C for acid catalyst and 40-60 deg.C for base catalyst.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a stabilizing agent containing an aluminum compound as a main component, and useful for suppressing the decomposition of an aqueous solution containing 2-aminocyclohexanone oxime (Amox) or its salt useful as a raw material for the preparation of an essential amino acid,(L-lysine, etc.). CONSTITUTION:The decomposition of Amox is suppressed effectively by adding 5-5,000ppm of an aluminum compound (e.g. aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate, aluminum acetate, etc.) as a stabilizer to Amox. EFFECT:The agent exhibits higher effectivity in the basic range in which Amox is unstable or in the presence of iron which accelerates the decomposition of Amox. It is also effective to flocculate and precipitate the impurities and to remove from the system. The turbidity of the solution is decreased, the transmittance of the visible light is increased, and the purifying effect is also improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound in high yield by carrying out the alkylation and isomerization of m-dichlorobenzene with easily and inexpensively available propylene under a condition satisfying a specific restricted relationship between the feeding amount of the raw material, pressure of hydrogen chloride, reaction temperature, etc. CONSTITUTION:3,5-Dichlorocumene is produced by alkylating m-dichlorobenzene with 0.2-1.0 times mol of propylene in the presence of aluminum chloride catalyst under hydrogen chloride pressure under a condition to satisfy the relationships of the formula I [C is weight ratio of aluminum chloride/propylene; T is reaction temperature ( deg.C); P is pressure of hydrogen chloride (kg/cm )], formula II, formula III and formula IV at the same time. The alkylation reaction proceeds in high efficiency by this process to give 2,4-dichlorocumene in high yield. Furthermore, the isomerization reaction is smoothly performed and the process is industrially advantageous. The product is useful as an intermediate for agricultural chemicals.
