Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an industrial conjugate fiber having excellent heat- resistance, chemical resistance, durability and mechanical properties and high peeling resistance between the inner-layer polymer component and the outer- layer polymer component. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyphenylene sulfide conjugate fiber is composed of an innermost layer consisting of a polyamide, an outermost layer consisting of a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and an intermediate layer consisting of a mixture of the polyamide and the PPS. The ratios of the innermost layer and the outermost layer to the total conjugate fiber is >=20wt.% and >=10wt.%, respectively. The part having a polyamide/PPS mixing ratio of 30:70 to 70:30 in the intermediate layer accounts for 5-50wt.% of the total fiber.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber of high strength and high modulus, low in creep, thus useful as an industrial fibrous material, by irradiating ultraviolet light on the (un)drawn yarn produced by spinning a solution of high-molecular weight polyethylene followed by drawing at high draw ratio. CONSTITUTION:(A) Undrawn yarn produced by spinning a solution of polyethylene with a weight-average molecular weight of >=700,000 (pref. >=2,000,000) or (B) the drawn yarn produced by drawing said undrawn yarn by a factor of >=20 (pref. 1.5-15) is irradiated with ultraviolet light pref. at an illuminance of 30-1,000W/m for 0.5-250min, followed by drawing at pref. 100-155 deg.C so that the total draw ratio exceeds 20, thus obtaining the objective fiber.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled yarn having high tenacity and modulus and excellent opening property, free from the sticking of the filaments, by extruding a low-concentration solution of a polymer through plural nozzles, removing the solvent from the filaments with an extractant and drying the filament by blasting gas against the filaments while applying vibration to each filament. CONSTITUTION:A polymer such as PE having a weight-average molecular weight of preferably >=1,000,000 is dissolved in a solvent such as decalin to a concentration of 0.5-25wt% to obtain a spinning dope. The dope is extruded through plural nozzles into a cooling bath. The obtained gelatinous filaments are introduced into an extraction bath composed of an extractant such as acetone to remove the solvent from the filaments, or the filaments extruded in air are introduced into a coagulation bath and the coagulated filaments are introduced into an extraction bath to remove the solvent. The objective yarn can be produced by drying the obtained yarn with a gas such as air (preferably at 20-150 deg.C) blasted against the yarn while applying vibration to each filament.

CONSTITUTION:A solution of a polyolefin based polymer, e.g. PE or PP, having >=5X10 , preferably >=1X10 weight-average molecular weifht in 0.5-15wt%, preferably 1-8wt% concentration is spun into fibers, which are then desolvated and dried. The resultant dried yarns are then drawn under the conditions of the formulas; 3 =3 stages, to give the aimed fibers.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress effectively the gluing between fibers and obtain the titled fibers for ropes, etc., by spinning a solution of a polyolefin having a specific weight-average molecular weight, applying a treating agent, e.g. silicone based agent, to the resultant gelatinous filaments after extracting a solvent therefrom, and hot-drawing the resultant filaments under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing 0.5-15wt% polyolefin polymer, e.g. high- density polyethylene, having >=5X10 weight-average molecular weight is spun to give gelatinous filaments, and the solvent is extracted. A silicone based or fluorine based treating agent or both agents in an amount of 0.5-20wt% are applied to the gelatinous filaments, and the resultant filaments are dried or fibers during the drying are hot-drawn at a temperature of the melting point of the polyolefin based polymer -70 deg.C lower than he melting point at >=10 times draw ratio to give the aimed fibers.

CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. of a basic raw material comprising >=10 pts.wt. of a hydraulic substance and >=10 pts.wt. of crystalline silica (e.g. silica powder or quartz sand) having an average particle diameter of =8.0g/d and a fiber length of 2-10mm and 10-25 pts.wt. (per 100 pts.wt. of the whole solid compounding materials including not only the hydraulic substance but also silica, etc.,) of water, molded by a dry molding method, and subsequently cured in an autoclave at 140-182 deg.C for 3-50hr to provide the objective molded product having a specific flexural strength [obtained by multiplying a flexural strength by the second power of 1.8/specific gravity] of >=140kg/cm . The acrylic fibers are produced by spinning an acrylonitrile polymer having an intrinsic viscosity of 1.8-5.0 by a dry-wet type spinning method and subsequently highly drawing the spun fibers.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain high-strength and high-elastic modulus acrylic fiber by spinning a polyacrylonitrile-based polymer and drawing the resultant fiber under respective specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A solution of a polyacrylonitrile-based polymer having 1.8-3.5 intrinsic viscosity is discharged to form coagulated fiber yarn, which is then primarily drawn at 1.2-5.0 times draw ratio under wet heat conditions, secondarily drawn at 1.2-3.0 times draw ratio under steam heat conditions, then dried and further post-drawn at >=1.2 times draw ratio under dry conditions. The total draw ratio is 10-15 times and the objective high-strength and high-elastic modulus acrylic fiber is industrially and stably obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title filament useful for fishing net, etc., having excellent transparency and high tensile strength by cooling a spun polymer in a liquid bath of two layers having different specific gravities at two stages, taking-up and thermally drawing. CONSTITUTION:A polymer comprising polyamide is delivered into a liquid bath of two layers which is laid right below spinneret, composed of the lower layer of water and the upper layer of a liquid (e.g. benzole) having higher specific gravity than water at 1-30 deg.C at a delivery ratio preferably shown by the formula 2XVXQ (L is distance cm of passage of the delivered polymer in the liquid of the upper layer; Q is an amount g/minute of the polymer delivered per hole of the spinneret; V is take-off speed m/minute), cooled and taken off. Then the yarn is thermally drawn to give the objective yarn.
