    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film that has excellent travelling properties and durability, can provide magnetic tapes of reduced output deviation and is useful as a magnetic medium by forming a film so that it may show specific physical properties. SOLUTION: A film having the following properties is obtained: 1. the three- dimensional surface roughness SRa is =5 Gpa. The number of projections higher than 40 nm is 0.01-3.0 on at least one face. The film is mainly composed of a polyamide resin. In order to attain these physical values, for example, a method for controlling the shape and the size of particles in the film is cited.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately regulate a slit gap of a mouthpiece even when a twist occur due to application of rotary torque to a driving shaft for coupling the head to a motor by outputting a correction of an operating amount of the motor corresponding to a measured twist amount of the shaft. SOLUTION: A motor controller 31 calculates a torque applied to a driving shaft 21 by a load of a motor. A thickness is accurately regulated without influence of a twist of the shaft 21 without using a unit for measuring the twist of the shaft 21 by calculating the twist amount of the shaft 21 by the calculated torque applied to the shaft 21, and giving an operating amount corresponding to the twist amount of the shaft 21 to the motor 23 and hence outputting a correction of the operating amount corresponding to the twist amount. And, a current value of the motor is measured by a measuring instrument 32, and a load of the motor 23 can be measured without using a complicated unit.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent discharge of a cooling rotor made of an insulating material having specific volume ratio resistance by providing discharge preventive members at the rotor at both ends of an electrode made of string-like metal material disposed so as to cross a resin sheet. SOLUTION: This apparatus discharges melted resin sheet 2 from a mouthpiece, brings it into contact with a cooling rotor 3 by electrostatic charge application, cools to solidify it, and molds it in a resin sheet. As an electrode 5 for applying electrostatic charge, a string-like metal electrode is used. The electrode 5 is disposed in the vicinity directly above a landing point of the sheet 2 on the rotor 3, and disposed at a position of a distance of a range of 3 to 15 mm from the sheet 2 at a lower end of the electrode 5 to cross the sheet 2. A discharge preventive member 6 made of ceramics or resin is used to cover both the ends of the electrode 5 of this case. The member 6 is made of a material having insulation of 1×10 Ω.cm or more of a volume ratio resistance.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film for an excellent high-density magnetic recording medium having excellent slitting properties and high elasticity by specifying the longitudinal density irregularity, preferably axial density irregularity, mean density of the film and at least unidirectional Young's modulus. SOLUTION: This film preferably uses main an aromatic polyamide or aromatic polyimide film, and the longitudinal density irregularity of the film is suppressed to less than 1%. Thus, when polymer is quantitatively discharged by a gear pump having a metering part or the film is oriented or heat treated, the temperature change of a heating medium to the time is controlled to the range of lower than 10 deg.C at the difference between the maximum time and the minimum time. The widthwise density irregularity of the film is less than 1%, and the mean density is preferably in a range of 1.35 to 1.55.
