    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare the title film having uniform surface projections with few coarse projections and excellent slipperiness, running properties, etc., by compounding poly-p-phenylene sulfide with two kinds of inert fine particles each in a specified amt. CONSTITUTION:Poly-p-phenylene sulfide is compounded with 0.05-2wt.% first component comprising inert fine particles A having a mean particle diameter ratio (major diameter to minor diameter) of 1.0-2.5, a mean particle diameter of 0.01-2.0mum, and a relative standard deviation of particle diameter expressed by equations I and II [wherein Di is an equivalent diameter (mum) of equal-area circle of each particle; D is a mean equivalent diameter (mum) of equal-area circle; and n is the number of particles] of 1.0 or lower (e.g. vaterite CaCO3), and 0.01-1wt.% second component comprising inert fine particles B having a mean particle diameter ratio of 1.0-2.5 and a mean particle diameter of 1.5-3.0 times that of the particles A (e.g. vaterite CaCO3).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To equalize the height of surface projections and improve sliding properties and dielectric strength by laminating a resin mainly comprising two kinds of poly-p-phenylene sulfide having different characteristic values and forming a biaxially oriented laminated film. CONSTITUTION:Poly-p-phenylene sulfide(PPS) resin powder having the characteristic value of melting viscosity of 1000-50000 poise at 300 deg.C at a shear rate of 200sec is melt-extruded, thus preparing a pellet A. On the other hand, PPS resin povyder having melting viscosity of half or one twentyth of the melting viscosity of the pellet A and a temperature-drop crystallization temperature of 150-250 deg.C is melt-extruded, thus preparing a pellet B. The pellets A, B are laminated under a molten state in a flow path between an extruder and a mouthpiece, thus preparing a PPS laminated film. The PPS laminated film is biaxially oriented by magnification, where the pellet A is orientated sufficiently, simultaneously or successively in length and breadth at a fixed temperature, and thermally treated in constant length at a fixed temperature for a specified time, thus acquiring a biaxially oriented PPS laminated film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject resin, excellent in affinity and adhesion of particles to a polyester and useful as magnetic tapes, etc., by adding particles having the surface treated with a specific aromatic compound to a system before completing polycondensing reaction. CONSTITUTION:A dicarboxylic acid containing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid as a principal acid component and an ester-forming derivative thereof and glycol are used to produce a polyester. In the process, particles having the surface treated with an aromatic compound expressed by the formula [R1 is sulfonic acid group or alkali metallic salt of the sulfonic acid group, carboxyl group or alkali metallic salt of the carboxyl group; R2 is sulfonic acid group or alkali metallic salt of the sulfonic acid group, carboxyl or alkali metallic salt of the carboxyl or H; R3 and R4 are COO(CH2)1OH, COOCmH2m+1 or CnH2n+1 ((l), (m) and (n) are 0-20)] are added to a system before completing the polycondensing reaction to afford the objective composition.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition suitable for obtaining film or fiber excellent in abrasion resistance and desirable especially for a magnetic tape repeatedly used under friction by mixing a thermoplastic polyester with amorphous alumina particles. CONSTITUTION:Amorphous alumina particles (desirably particles having a secondary particle diameter of 5.0mum or below and comprising primary particles of a specific surface area of 10m /g or above) are added to a thermoplastic polyester (desirably one based on polyethylene terephthalate). The amount of the amorphous alumina particles added is desirably 0.01-30 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester. The obtained polyester composition can be molded into film or fiber of good abrasion resistance and can desirably be used for a magnetic tape repeatedly used under friction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a thermoplastic polyester composition having good compatibility between the polyester and the calcium carbonate particles, having excellent abrasion resistance and suitable as films, fibers, especially magnetic tapes, by compounding the calcium carbonate particles subjected to a specific surface treatment.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a polyester for compounding which can be made highly conductive in melt forming of film by adding an alkali metal compd., a glycol, a magnesium or manganese compd. and a phosphorus compd. in a specified manner to a reaction product wherein esterification has been completed.
