Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugate fiber which is maintained in a relative large decitex range permitting good passability at a stage for passing the fiber through a card and can then be split and separated into the fine fibers by the application of a physical force. SOLUTION: This split type conjugate fiber in which one component B of the components is split into three or more portions with the other component A, characterized in that the split type conjugate fiber comprises a polyamide and polybutylene terephthalate and that the amount of the carboxyl terminal groups of the polybutylene terephthalate is 30 to 60 eq/t. The nonwoven fabric using the fibers.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing nylon staple yarns having crimps excellent in compression resistance or nylon straight staple yarns excellent in straightness, efficiently at low cost. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing nylon raw cotton having crimps is carried out as follows: nylon tows obtained by melt spinning and solidified by cooling are stretched; and subsequently, they are crimped and at the same time heat set with superheated steam to hold crimps. Or, the method for manufacturing nylon straight raw cotton is carried out as follows: nylon tows obtained by melt spinning and solidified by cooling are stretched; and subsequently, they are heat set with superheated steam to improve the straightness of the raw cotton.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject fiber having a specific boiling water-shrinkage and elongation, stable to heat in felt producing without shrinking and producible of a felt for papermaking, having excellent felt dignity or durability by fiberizing a polyamide-based block copolymer. SOLUTION: Fibers having =110 deg.C. Preferably, a nylon 12-based polyether block copolymer is fiberized and crimping is imparted to the fiber before the heat treatment.
