    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the polyester fibers which can be spun without yarn breakage even in the ultrahigh-speed ring spinning process by applying a finishing oil including a specific surfactant and an inert inorganic oxide of a specific particle size to polyester fibers. CONSTITUTION:A finishing oil containing 40 to 80wt.%, preferably 45 to 65wt.% of an inorganic salt of a phosphoric acid ester bearing 8 to 22 C alkyl ester group, particularly stearyl phosphate salt, and 1 to 10wt.% of an inert inorganic oxide of 10 to 150Xm particle sizes is emulsified and applied to the tow or staple fibers in the spinning or drawing process to remove deposition of the polymers and the finishing oil on the antinode rings by the use of the inert inorganic oxide even in such a high-speed ring spinning as 60,000rpm or higher spindle revolution whereby polyester fibers causing no increased yarn breakage. uneven dyeing and reduction in yarn strength are obtained. Particularly marked effect is developed in super-bright fibers containing no titanium oxide in the polymer or in bright fibers containing a reduced amount of titanium oxide.
