Abstract: PURPOSE:To absorb the positional error of stud pins in manufacture by providing guide means limiting the relative movement elastic supporters to one direction on multiple elastic supporters except one. CONSTITUTION:When a shadow mask 7 is to be assembled into a panel 3, coupling members 216 corresponding to the second and third elastic supporters 21b, 21c and a coupling member 206 corresponding to the fourth elastic supporter 21d are merely brought into contact with respective elastic supporters 21b, 21c, 21d. The movement of the supporters 21b, 21c, 21d against the members 216, 206 coupled with the stud pins 30b, 30c, 30d is limited only to the direction parallel with the plane formed by the pins 30a, 30b, 30c by guide means. The supporters 21b, 21c, 21d are moved to positions where spring pressures of the supporters 21a, 21b, 21c, 21d are balanced in the direction parallel with the plane formed by the pins 30a, 30b, 30c and stopped. Coupling sections 213, 203 and coupling members 216, 206 of the supporters 21b, 21c, 21d are welded and fixed. The twisting of the supporters 21 can be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a purity drift not produced for hours even in case of using a shadow mask small in a coefficient of thermal expansion and an iron mask frame by using a specific support member. CONSTITUTION:A support member 30, having a top part, is formed into V-shaped or U-shaped form in a section in the direction of a tube shaft 17, and it consists of a first member 32 extending toward a stand pin 22 from the top part with a certain angle to the tube shaft 17 and a second member 33 extending toward a shadow mask 18 from the top part with a certain angle to the tube shaft 17. Accordingly, even if a mask frame 19 is spread in the peripheral direction by thermal expansion, it is in no case shifted toward a phosphor screen. Otherwise, the travel is possible to be set to the desired small value. In this manner, the mask frame 19 is supported at four corners, and in case of a color picture tube where a coefficient of thermal expansion in the shadow mask 18 is small as compared with the mask frame 19, a purity drift for long hours is improvable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the image reproduction of a color cathode-ray tube by adjusting the angle between the movable piece of a thin elastic member and the tube axis and the angle between an electron beam and the tube axis according to a given formula. CONSTITUTION:The side wall of a shadow mask 15 having a thermal expansion coefficient of alpham for 200 deg.C is fixed to a mask frame 17 having a thermal expansion coefficient of alphaf for the above temperature range. A thin elastic member 22 is installed between a mask frame 17 and a stud pin 10 which is buried in the inner surface of the panel 1. The angle (alpha) between the movable piece 22a of the member 22 and the tube axis 20 and the angle (beta) between the tube axis 20 and an electron beam 24 passing through the outermost opening of the shadow mask 15 located near the member 22 are adjusted according to the formula. Due to the above structure, the image reproduction of the color cahtode-ray tube is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate any difference between deflection sensitivity to both side beams and the same to the central beam, with regard to the combination of a color picture tube and deflection yoke, wherein the deflection sensitivity to both side beams is different from the deflection sensitivity to the central beam. CONSTITUTION:12 and 14 denote both side beam emission holes of an electron gun while 13 denotes a central beam emission hole. Also 23 and 24 are deflection magnetic field control elements while 25-30 denote each part of the magnetic field control elements. In said constitution arrangement, the horizontal deflection magnetic field near the central beam emission hole 13 becomes fairly scarcse because much of the magnetic flux is converged by the parts 25 and 26 of the magnetic control elements 23 and 24. Accordingly, the magnetic field control elements 23 and 24 act to weaken the horizontal deflection sensitivity to the central beam 4 thus to enable even coma aberration to be easily corrected.

Here, in the metal band 29, both end connection parts are positioned in the vicinity of a diagonal axis of the panel, its both end parts are connected through the mounting lug 31 arranged in the vicinity of diagonal axis thereof.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the concentration of three beams aligned in a line, and to improve the focus characteristic of the peripheral part of a faceplate by combing a first arm for magnetically connecting, a connection part for leading a magnetic flux and a second arm for forming a magnetic field so as to apply the specified work. CONSTITUTION:In the case where a pair of magnetic field control elements 22 are arranged in the rear side of a vertical deflecting coil 13, the rear leaked magnetic field discharged from the rear part of the vertical deflecting coil 13 in the electron gun 7 direction is taken into a first arm 23, and the magnetic flux taken into the first arm 23 is led to a second arm 24 through a connection part 25, and discharged from a pair of magnetic pole formed parts 26 in both sides of the second arm 24 so as to form a pin-cushion magnetic field in the rear side of a deflecting device 21. The vertical deflected magnetic field of the deflecting device 21 is thereby formed so that the phosphor screen 3 side is formed with a barrel type magnetic field generated by the vertical deflecting coil 13 and that the electron gun 7 side is formed with the pin-cushion magnetic field formed by the magnetic field control element 22. Coma of the barrel type vertical deflecting magnetic field is reduced, and the three electron beams 6B, 6G, 6R can be concentrated over the whole of the faceplate without the concentration error.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress blooming phenomenon in the high current region by forming an approx. circular recess coaxially with an electron beam passinghole in No.1 grid at that surface of a cathode which faces the No.1 grid, and providing an electron emission layer only on the inner surface of this recess. CONSTITUTION:An approx.. circular recess 26 is formed coaxially with the electron beam passing hole 5 in No.1 grid at that surface of a cathode 25K which faces the No.1 grid G1, and an electron emission layer 27 is provided only on the inner surface of this recess. Thereby electrons in the low current region are emitted from an operational region 29L formed in a shallow part near the No.1 grod G1 in the recess 26. The electrons in the high current area, on the other hand, are emitted from the operational region in the low current region and that operational area 29H of the recess 26 which is formed in a part deeper than the low current region operational region. Thereby the assumed crossover dia. can be made small even in the high current region, and also the influence of the aberration due to main electron lens ML in the high current region can be reduced. As a result, blooming phenomenon in the high current region can be suppressed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct purity drift for a long period of time properly by forming the body of a shadow mask from a material with low coefficient of thermal expansion, constituting the mask frame from a material with high coefficient of thermal expansion, and supporting this shadow mask by a frame holder equipped with No.1 and No.2 elastically deforming parts which are inclined in acute angle to the two edges of a detent part for detention to a stud pin. CONSTITUTION:The body 22 of a shadow mask 24 is formed from a material with low coefficient of thermal expansion such as invar material, while the mask frame 23 to support its peripheries constituted from a carbon steel material with relatively high coefficient of thermal expansion, and the shadow mask 24 is borne by a stud pin 29 at the inside of a panel 1. When an electron beam collides with this shadow mask 24, the mask body presents little thermal expansion due to its low coefficient of thermal expansion, and the mask frame 23 displaces in the radial direction as shown by the arrow 36, and No.1 and No.2 elastic deforming parts 32 of the frame holder 28 deform elastically. As these elastically deforming parts 32a, 32b are folded in approx. equal angle with respect to a detent part 31, there is little displacement of the mask frame 23 in the direction toward the fluorescent screen.
