    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a color picture tube which can provide good beam landing by enhancing the tensile strength of a mask main body, and eliminating wrinkles in the skirt of the main body. CONSTITUTION: This color picture tube has a substantially rectangular shadow mask consisting of a mast main body 21 and a mask frame 22. At least one bead 27 surrounding the overall periphery of the skirt 25 of the mask main body is formed at almost the center of the skirt 25, and first and second notches 28a, 28b both of which do not reach the bead are formed at least in the centers of the short and long sides of the mask main body, respectively. Also, third notches 28c which reach the bead are formed at the skirt in the corners of the main body, and the mask frame is welded close to each notch and in a position near the edge of the skirt.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an explosion-proof cathode ray tube obtaining an excellent explosion-proof reinforcing affect by applying it to a cathode ray tube flatting an effective part of a panel and laterally long cathode ray tube with 16:9 aspect ratio or fluorescent screen. SOLUTION: This cathode ray tube is provided with a vacuum envelope comprising a substantially rectangular panel providing a side wall part in the periphery of an effective part and a funnel connected or fused to a side wall part end of the panel, metal band 29 annularly connecting both end parts fastening a side wall part periphery of the panel with an elongation factor exceeding an elastic limit and a mounting lug 31 welded to this metal band. Here, in the metal band 29, both end connection parts are positioned in the vicinity of a diagonal axis of the panel, its both end parts are connected through the mounting lug 31 arranged in the vicinity of diagonal axis thereof.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the concentration of three beams aligned in a line, and to improve the focus characteristic of the peripheral part of a faceplate by combing a first arm for magnetically connecting, a connection part for leading a magnetic flux and a second arm for forming a magnetic field so as to apply the specified work. CONSTITUTION:In the case where a pair of magnetic field control elements 22 are arranged in the rear side of a vertical deflecting coil 13, the rear leaked magnetic field discharged from the rear part of the vertical deflecting coil 13 in the electron gun 7 direction is taken into a first arm 23, and the magnetic flux taken into the first arm 23 is led to a second arm 24 through a connection part 25, and discharged from a pair of magnetic pole formed parts 26 in both sides of the second arm 24 so as to form a pin-cushion magnetic field in the rear side of a deflecting device 21. The vertical deflected magnetic field of the deflecting device 21 is thereby formed so that the phosphor screen 3 side is formed with a barrel type magnetic field generated by the vertical deflecting coil 13 and that the electron gun 7 side is formed with the pin-cushion magnetic field formed by the magnetic field control element 22. Coma of the barrel type vertical deflecting magnetic field is reduced, and the three electron beams 6B, 6G, 6R can be concentrated over the whole of the faceplate without the concentration error.

A magnetic field control piece 31 composed of ferromagnetic metal protruded in a tube axis direction is provided on the inner side of the corner part vicinity of the inner shield 30 to magnetically join this magnetic field control piece with the inner shield or the mask frame.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize stability against external impact, by forming a body for supporting a shadow mask with a mobile piece fitted to a panel pin, and a piece fixed on a mask frame whose thickness is larger than that of the mobile piece and in excess of a specific value. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask 6 fixed with a mask frame 5 is disposed close to a fluorescent screen 3 mounted on a front panel 2 of an enclosure, to compose a color cathode-ray tube. Namely, an elastic support 20 for supporting the shadow mask 6 is formed by unitedly fixing a bent-shaped mobile piece 22, which can be freely assembled/disassembled and fitted to a pin 15 on the panel 2, and a fixing piece 21, which is 1.5 or more times as thick as the mobile piece 22 and is fixed with the mask frame 5. Color shift of the screen is then prevented from occurring due to thermal expansion of the shadow mask 6 when the cathode-ray tube being in operation, and besides external impact is absorbed. Hence, the cathode ray-tube can be obtained having its screen quality widely stabilized.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a color cathode-ray tube having high color purity by reducing the dislocation of landing due to external magnetic field such as earth magnetism. CONSTITUTION:This color cathode-ray tube has a shadow mask 4 of approximately rectangular form comprising a mask body 5 faced to a phosphor screen 3 laid on the internal surface of a panel 1 of approximately rectangular form, and a mask frame 6 mounted along the periphery of the mask body 5. In addition, the mask frame 6 is fitted with a hollow magnetic shield body 20 of approximately rectangular trapezoid at a position inside the expanded section 13 of a funnel 2. In this case, the short side of the magnetic shield body 20 is made larger than the long side thereof, and the side end of the small diameter opening of the short side is formed in such a way as projected toward the extension direction of the short side.
