    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC isolating structure which enables downsizing of the dimension, and its manufacture. SOLUTION: An IC isolating structure 40 has a recess 56 provided in a conductive layer possessing a surface section. The recess 56 has a sidewall adjacent to the surface section, and moreover the isolating structure 40 further has an insulator which is provided in the recess and overlaps the surface part. Accordingly, hereby when a transistor is provided within the conductive layer, adjacent to the sidewall of the recess, the overlapping section of the insulator increases the interval between the angle of the upper recess and a gate electrode.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an improved circuit for replacing a faulty row or column line in a semiconductor memory device by comprising a programmable circuit for indicating a row or column line having a fault and a shifter circuit for shifting a memory address in order to allow the indicated faulty row or column line to be bypassed. SOLUTION: A redundant circuit 1 includes a shifter circuit 2 and a programmable circuit 3. The programmable circuit 3 includes two or more fuse circuits 4A, 4B, and corresponding fuse address decode circuits 5, and indicates and bypasses two or more column lines relating to a fault. The shifter circuit 2 receives a decoded address line generated by an address decoder 6, and activates one column line based on an address line generated by the programmable circuit 3. Thus, the faulty column line can be bypassed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a circuit and the method which drive an H-bridge circuit used in a disk driving device. SOLUTION: The H bridge circuit 100 in provided with NMOS transistors(TR) as both upper and lower TRs. An inductive head is coupled between the terminals of those TRs. When a logical signal is received, it is boosted by a circuit equipped with a capacitor, and used to drive one of upper TRs 125 and 165. The selected upper TRs 125 and 165 to be driven respond to the logical signal. Corresponding lower TRs 145 and 185 are also driven, and a current, is made to flow in a 1st direction through the inductive head. When a logical signal complementary to the 1st logical signal is received, the other upper and lower TRs turn on to drive a current in the opposite direction through the inductive head.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a fingerprint sensor in electrostatic discharge protection characteristics by a method wherein a topographical discharge grid equipped with a dielectric layer is formed on conductive plates, the conductive plates are separated, and electrostatic charge is dispersed so as not to reach the conductive plates. SOLUTION: A dielectric body is provided between plates 10 and 12 and above them. A topographical discharge grid 32 is provided between the plates 10 and 12 and in a gap adjacent to a cell 3. By the topographical discharge grid 32, the discharge grid 32 is deposited in a gap or a groove formed as a part of a sensor circuit located below the grid 32. Electrostatic charge generated on the surface of the sensor cells 3 in the topographical discharge grid 32 and an insulating layer 16 is transferred, and the electronic component of the sensor cell 3 is protected. An electrostatic charge carrying capacity is optimized making the sensitivity of the sensor 3 least affected by the thickness, composition, and position of the topographical discharge grid 32.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To scatter electrostatic charge so as to improve a sensor array in electrostatic discharge protection, by a method wherein a conductive plate is separated off, a dielectric layer is provided to protect the conductive plate against damage, and furthermore an insulating layer is provided on the conductive plate. SOLUTION: Cells 3a and 3b are possessed of a first conductive plate 10 and a second conductive plate 12 supported on a semiconductor substrate respectively. An insulating layer 16 is provided on the top surface of the semiconductor substrate. A conductive layer is formed on the insulating layer 16 to protect the semiconductor substrate against damage caused by electrostatic discharge induced by an electrostatic potential carried by an object such as fingers or the like. Dielectric layers 29a and 29b are each provided on the conductive plates 10 and 12 so as to separate them from one another. Conductive pads are each formed on the dielectric layers 29a and 29b. A passivation film 34 is deposited on the conductive layer.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the overhead regarding the use of descriptors and descriptor rings relating to respective frame data buffers by updating only the starting and ending descriptors in a descriptor chain for a desired host or controller. SOLUTION: A network controller 40 updates a starting and an ending descriptor entry which are concerned to optimize the use of a bus when >=3 frame data buffers are chained together. When the network controller 40 completes the process as to a buffer relating to chained frames, the possession of the ending descriptor is returned first and then the possession of the starting descriptor is returned. The flags and fields of the starting and ending descriptors in a column type chain of a fence post, i.e., a fence are all updated by the controller 40 and when they are completely sent or received, accurate information regarding the frames is provided.

SOLUTION: A supply voltage generator 42 receives Vdd, and outputs a voltage supply Vblp 44 and the voltage supply Vcp 46 of either 0.5 Vdd. The voltage supply Vblp 44 supplies a bit line pre-charging/balancing voltage to memory blocks 30, 32, 34, 36 through a switch 48, and the voltage supply Vcp 46 supplies a plate bias functioning voltage to them through the switch 50. In the beginning of the bit line detection period, the bit line is pre-charged/ balanced by the voltage supply Vblp 44. Then, the switches 48, 50 respond to signals A, B, and cut off the voltage supply Vblp 44, the voltage supply Vcp 46 from the memory blocks 30, 32, 34, 36. Thereafter, a word line and sense amplifiers 38, 40 are activated to perform bit line detective operation.
