Disclosed is a wire-type corona charger having a wire electrode disposed between ground electrode plates. The wire electrode is supported by the ends of the plurality of wire electrode supporters which are so arranged that their ends have a curvature equal to arcuately-shaped upper edge of the ground electrode plates. The curvature coincides with one of the curvatures of the horizontal axis and the vertical axis of the interior surface of the panel faceplate, while the charger is pivoted along the other curvature of the faceplate. The charger can uniformly charge the photoconductive layer and improves the charging efficiency.

A simple method of preparing a homogeneous cellulose solution is disclosed, which comprises the steps of (a) preparing fibrillar cellulose powder; (b) injecting a molten liquid tertiary amine oxide solvent into a twin screw extruder; (c) feeding the cellulose powder of step (a) into a section of the twin screw extruder where the molten liquid tertiary amine oxide solvent fed in step (b) produces a well swollen paste with the cellulose powder fed in step (c); (d) dissolving the well swollen cellulose paste in the following melting sections in the twin screw extruder; and (e) stabilizing the solution obtained in step (d) in a storage tank.

Methanol is economically produced from carbon dioxide in a high yield by a process which comprises compressing a gaseous mixture of carbon dioxide and hydrogen; introducing the compressed gaseous mixture into a conversion column; converting a part of the carbon dioxide contained in the mixture to carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst in the conversion column to produce a gas phase mixture and a liquid phase mixture; removing the liquid phase mixture in a gas-liquid separator; introducing the gas phase mixture from the gas-liquid separator into a reactor while recycling, optionally, a part thereof into the conversion column; reacting the compressed gas phase mixture introduced into the reactor in the presence of a catalyst to produce a mixture containing methanol; and recovering methanol as a liquid phase product from the mixture.
