    Abstract: A device and a method for playing music of a portable digital audio player are provided to display user's own music by giving an effect or by mixing the music according to taste of the user. A device for playing music of a portable digital audio player comprises a user interface unit(120), an audio play control unit(130), an audio play unit(110), a recording unit(140), and a network control unit(150). The user interface unit receives information about a play direction, play speed, and a memory section to change, from a user. The audio play control unit changes audio data read from a memory of the portable digital audio player after analyzing the information input through the user interface unit. The audio play control unit detects the play speed of the audio data which is played by the audio play unit and beat-matches the play speed of the audio data with the detected play speed, and delivers the audio data to the audio play unit. The audio play unit plays the audio data sent from the audio play control unit. The recording unit memorizes a predetermined section of the audio data corresponding to the information of the memory section input through the user interface unit, in the memory of the portable digital audio player. The network control unit downloads the audio data from a specific server through a wireless network and memorizes the audio data in the memory of the portable digital audio player.
